I see this argument over and over again and it is patently FALSE. No, you aren’t buying a license. You are buying a product. You do not own the IP, you own a copy of it. That copy cannot be taken away from you. You retain ownership and control of the product as long as it does not require any outside input to run it. This is why #NoDiscNoBuy advocates for games that are fully on disc, 100% playable offline, no download required. Over 60% of PS5 games meet this criteria (per @DoesItPlay1). This is why we promote GoG.com which offers DRM-free games. Gamers deserve to own what they purchase. This includes ownership rights for digital media including resell, trading, and refund rights. We have allowed the gaming industry to take advantage of us long enough.

The most annoying thing about being human right now is knowing we already have the intelligence and resources to end world hunger, fight climate change, and cure cancer, but greed and billionaires keep millions suffering instead. The wasted human potential is heartbreaking.
Unfortunately, if we riot we’d need a million people to riot, and to make the Government submit. We’ve had many chances, but British media and its propoganda is so thorough we can’t agree on any one principle we know would be better. We had people question kids free-school meals

Mind you the UK still got their monarchy & announced the initial porn bans in the waves after the Online Safety Act so clearly this isn't about incest or protecting children at all but all twitter anime icons care about is talking about incest

We hate GTA6 because Rockstar and Sony are using it as the foundation to push the most consumer unfriendly change in gaming history.
No more physical games. Which means prices are higher for EVERYONE (digital games will go on sale less often)
It's extremely valid to hate it.

- they're criminalising "hardcore" porn but do fuck all to deal with the actual acts of rape that they claim to be cracking down on nor exploitation in the industry
- they want us to have "difficult conversations" about war as if they're anything worth fighting for

There's been a lot of bullshit that the UK government's been up to that I've wanted to comment on but can't find the words so rapid fire:
- they put their propaganda machine on youtube and immediately want to add it to the fucking TV license

This is exactly why I have my concerns about GKCs. Because they aren't a regular install like a standard Blu-ray disc, any technical issues like this are going to occur if there's a problem with the servers.

Another glimpse into the future of every "better than nothing" key card and #PhysicalFraud disc. All bound to become "exactly the same as nothing". Only in this case it happened the other way round. Game wasn't even uploaded to begin with, it seems.
This is exactly what worries me about Game-Key Cards 😕
When the download isn’t available, your “physical game” becomes nothing more than a piece of plastic that can’t even play the game you paid for.
I’m sorry, but I just can’t consider that a real physical release.
And now we’re seeing a concerning example with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Holiday Play Edition on Switch 2.
A physical owner reports being unable to download or play the game after inserting their Game-Key Card.
The console displays error 2016-0070, while the eShop lists a download size of just 82 MB, compared to around 2 GB for the Switch 1 version.
The cause is still unclear, and we don’t know how widespread the issue is.
No download. No game. That’s the risk of a format that depends entirely on external downloads.
Hopefully GameMill and Nintendo can get this resolved quickly.

The hate for GTA VI is justified considering that:
>It's trying to normalize $80/$100 games
>No proper physical release
>Cost over $1 billion to make
>Rockstar frequently busted any attempts at unionization
The game will succeed, but gaming as a whole will suffer for it
