A motion was filed yesterday in The LIV bankruptcy process for approval of a Separation & Mutual Release with Jon Rahm. All of the details ⬇️
Both side agree to:
• Rahm exiting the league
• Rahm drops his $7.5M claim and any other claims that happened before the deal take effect
• LIV cannot sue Rahm over old deal
With Rahm’s NIL:
• almost all rights return to him
• LIV can still use historical content
• Legion XIII team name and related branding is handed to Rahm’s company
Other clean-up:
• Rahm no longer has ownership in LIV/a team
• the exit is mutual
This is all pending the judge’s approval set for a sign off at a November 5 hearing.
At today’s The LIV bankruptcy hearing, the following group of players had their old contracts rejected ⬇️
Laurie Canter
Bryson DeChambeau
Thomas Detry
Lucas Herbert
Sam Horsfield
Ben An
Dustin Johnson
Anirban Lahiri
Michael La Sasso
Marc Leishman
Victor Perez
Ian Poulter
Cam Smith
Brendan Steele
Caleb Surratt
Cameron Tringale
Harold Varner III
Bubba Watson
Lee Westwood
These players can now proceed with new LIV 2.0 terms or may exit the league.
LIV’s 1pm bankruptcy hearing is underway.
Key items:
• final approval of PIF’s ~$54M DIP financing to help the league continue operations
• uncontested assumption of the BC Partners RSA for LIV 2.0
• rejection of remaining old player contracts
As we reported on 9/22, PIF, as champions of global team golf, continue to support LIV, ensuring the league will land on its feet’s for 2027 and beyond.
Bryson leading The LIV players group from the front, giving them a powerful seat at the table with investors and the league.
Not quite a union, but with his marquee status now attached to the roster wholly, they can all benefit.
Not getting a sense that The LIV is overly concerned with this DPWT decision.
This could sway a few players who may have been undecided, but for others in the nearly decided/likely staying group, this is mostly meaningless.
Departures were always coming. Success was always going be about the ones who remained.

Calling the fans and followers of LIV Golf pathetic & shameless is the tell.
The next version will have fans too. They won’t ask your permission.
A source close to LIV Golf confirms the league has a schedule for 2027 with the target of late October for release.
Lots of moving parts and pieces with the players still, but the confirmation of event locations and dates is a great signal the LIV will hit the ground running post bankruptcy court.
LATEST IN LIV:
- Bryson’s lawyers at Weil trying to rally a players-only committee to negotiate with BC/ LIV / PIF
- BC within days re-hiring some LIV staff and has prelim 2027 schedule

No need to tell you Matt runs laps around the establishment media, but pay attention, these are no throwaway lines:
”Professional golfers are independent contractors. They should be free to play wherever they choose.”
This is the necessary truth behind every moving part in the sport today.

Goldthorpe said the group will introduce additional co-investors who will be able to support the league as well, with plans to achieve what he described as financial sustainability “very, very quickly” without significant additional cash required.
“People’s initial reaction is … ‘What are you thinking?’” Goldthorpe said. “You wouldn’t believe the number of people who’ve reached out to us to invest.”

LIV Golf’s CEO talks on how “the world changed” quickly for the league.
“And then a war happened. Funding dried up. We had to get creative. We had to find discipline. We had to come together.”
Scott O'Neil looks back on the first chapter of @livgolf_league and what changed - shifting from a Saudi business plan to a "business business plan" on the heels of the BC Partners Credit investment Monday.
“We (LIV Golf) are so different from them (PGA Tour)…we should be working with them, instead of against them.”

The PGA Tour has for the last couple of seasons taken sponsorship money from a company now accused of running a Ponzi like scheme.
"A separate lawsuit filed by Jeremy Ricks, who lives in California, alleges that Oneflight used customer funds to service obligations to earlier customers and fund marketing and sponsorship campaigns for various groups, including the PGA Tour and McLaren F1 team."

Josele just holed an eagle from 130 feet on the Old Course.
That’s the kind of putt you send to somebody who doesn’t watch much golf.
