Did you watch The Battle of eThekwini? On @SABCNews
Tonight @Zwakelem put forward ActionSA’s position on some of the issues affecting our city and demonstrated why he is ready to lead @eThekwiniM
From service delivery and safety to illegal immigration, accountability and fixing a municipality that is not working for its residents, the message was clear: eThekwini needs leadership with a plan.
Now we want to hear from you.
What was your favourite moment or strongest point from Zwakele’s debate?

Leadership is tested not only by how we respond to victory but by how we respond to provocation.
Following an incident involving MK Party members, where ActionSA members were intimidated and one of our members was injured, our mayoral candidate @Zwakelem made it clear at the signing of the Electoral Code of Conduct that we believe in political tolerance, respect for democratic participation and an election conducted with fairness, dignity and integrity.
ActionSA will remain disciplined, composed and in control of our emotions.
We will not allow intimidation to define how we conduct ourselves.
We will campaign with conviction, compete fairly and uphold the standards we expect from those seeking to serve our communities.
We are here to win the trust of South Africans through action, integrity and leadership not intimidation.

ActionSA Demands Probe Over Alleged R16m eThekwini Tender Awarded to Wanted Fugitive
ActionSA in the eThekwini Municipality has officially written to the City Manager, demanding urgent transparency and accountability regarding a controversial R16 million municipal tender.
This intervention follows alarming public allegations that a multimillion-rand contract was awarded to a company owned by a Zimbabwean national who is currently accused of terrorising women and evading law enforcement in Johannesburg.
The political party is demanding a comprehensive review of the supply chain management processes that led to the approval of the contract.
According to ActionSA, the municipality must clear the air on whether due diligence, background verification, and vetting procedures were compromised before state funds were allocated.
"The public deserves to know how a company linked to an individual facing such severe criminal allegations could successfully secure a R16 million contract within our municipality," the party stated.
The City Manager has been urged to table a full report outlining the scope of the tender, the compliance status of the bidding entity, and the immediate steps the municipality intends to take if the procurement process is found to have been irregular.
Local authorities have yet to issue an official response to the demands.

It’s time for a new standard of ethical, capable leadership. It’s time to give @Action4SA a mandate to FIX eThekwini.
eThekwini campaign is being led by our mayoral candidate @Zwakelem , whose stated priorities include restoring basic services, financial discipline, ending corruption and building a responsive city.
Let’s take eThekwini back to the people. 💚✊🏽
These coming elections belong to the people of South Africa.
We are proud to see citizens taking action and making it clear that they are tired of simply following political parties.
They want leaders they can trust leaders who have already earned the confidence of their communities, who understand their challenges, and who have a proven record of serving where it matters most.
The power is in the hands of the people. ✊🏽💚#VoteActionSA #FixSouthAfrica #ItsTimeForAction #Elections2026

🚨🗣️ NO APOLOGIES. NO EXCUSES. NO COMPROMISE. SOUTH AFRICANS FIRST.
When asked why voters should vote for ActionSA on 4 November, I was unequivocal: ActionSA is unapologetic about its mandate to restore municipalities across South Africa.
When we take power, we will govern for South Africans, not for the world. Our municipalities will no longer be places where politicians put their parties, cadres and illegal immigrants ahead of the citizens who give us the mandate.
We will restore law and order, accountability and competent government. We will put South Africans first and make government work for the people it is elected to serve.

🗣️ “You cannot build an economy in an environment of chaos.”
I am currently at the Black Business Annual Summit hosted by @BlackBCouncil, making it clear that South Africa cannot achieve meaningful economic growth without first restoring stability, law and order.
We must tackle illegal immigration, strengthen enforcement, restore the rule of law and create an environment where businesses can invest, entrepreneurs can grow and South Africans can access economic opportunities. Economic growth requires stability, certainty and order.

Today, South Africa marks Women's Day, commemorating the 1956 march by thousands of women to the Union Buildings in protest against the pass laws, a defining moment in the fight for freedom and equality. In this spirit, Phoenix came together for a Women's Day event held at the Babita Deokaran memorial, attended by ActionSA KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Chairperson Zwakele Mncwango, ActionSA eThekwini Mayoral Candidate Councillor Saul Basckin, and Provincial Secretary Thozama Ngubani.
A meaningful gathering honouring Babita Deokaran's memory while reflecting on the strength and resilience of the women of Phoenix, and on the legacy of courage that Women's Day represents. 🌸
