We’re sorry for announcing this change so close to Ascent Osaka. We understand that asking players to reconsider their deck decisions about a day before the event is causing stress. We moved forward because we believe the change improves fairness at Osaka, and we felt that benefit was important for this event. We wanted to announce it earlier, but the technology wasn’t ready. We should have planned and communicated the timing better. The change will remain in effect for Ascent Osaka. Reversing it now would create more uncertainty for players, and we don’t want to add another last-minute disruption. We’re sorry for the stress this is causing. As an additional clarification, since many players have asked: Champion cards registered in the sideboard are not revealed. We’ve added a tooltip to the revealed champions view in the UI to make this clearer.

New Omnidex updates are now live, featuring Decklist Validation and Revealed Champions! We've been working on improvements to the Omnidex decklist submission process to reduce the likelihood of players accidentally submitting illegal decklists. While our previous system prioritized flexibility across different formats, we've decided to place a greater emphasis on making the experience easier and more reliable for players participating in current competitive events. Alongside these improvements, we're also introducing Revealed Champions, a feature intended to create a more level playing field at competitive events. We want to ensure that players have access to the same basic information about their opponents, regardless of whether they have a large network of players to share information with.
