Craziest thing I've seen in a while:
• Someone buys $4M worth of BONK
• Then posts a DAO proposal asking to transfer $20M in BONK to themselves
• Waits 7 days without anyone noticing
• Then votes "yes" with their own BONK holdings, and the proposal passes
• $20M is transferred to them
And now the Bonk team has suddenly realized they lost $20M.
This wasn't even a hack.
The proposal passed because no $BONK holders checked the governance forum.
Insane to see the current state of DAOs.
BonkDAO was the target of a malicious governance proposal resulting in an estimated $20M worth of BONK tokens being drained from the BonkDAO treasury.
During the investigation, BonkDAO identified the exchange wallets used to purchase BONK ahead of the proposal. BonkDAO is currently actively working with exchanges, bridges and Solana Foundation to best manage the situation.
Law enforcement has been notified. BonkDAO continues to work with relevant parties to recover funds and identify those responsible.

the try to set the governance address to a vanity address that looks almost like the governance address:
- spoofed version: `0x5EFDa50f22D34F272c7077689d6ABc42F15E285f`
- real governance address: `0x5efda50f22d34F262c29268506C5Fa42cB56A1Ce`
same for the staking governance proxy:
- spoofed version `0x2fc93484614a34f7dbf98d7f7e997f6424e54a32`
- real staking address: `0x2FC93484614a34f26F7970CBB94615bA109BB4bf`
furthermore, worth mentioning the function `nullifyBalance` checks against the spoofed governance address above; so whoever controls that vanity address can zero out any relayer's balance at will.
this is a governance attack on Tornado Cash and i ask all TORN tokenholders to reject this proposal

Bitcoin has always been operating in 4 year cycles where it crashes at the end

It's actually great because every 4th year people really get super sad and give up on it (or well that's how it feels like)
There's also surely some sentiment pumping to push the price down so people can buy in cheap again
The next cycle up is 2027-2031
(And it has something to with the halvening which happens every 4 years cutting the reward for miners in half)
