We're asking for "burrito" not to be translated as "cheeseburger" you dishonest shit
The "Thank them for censoring diddy ahh content" angle is new but fandoms for 4Kids shows were like this years before COVID. It's not kids who watched their first anime in 2020 doing this, it's after-school anime block nostalgia milennials like with Faulconer DBZ
Cryonic experiments from 2014 Tumblr will watch shows that went through censorship standards that would make your fundie grandma go "that's ridiculous" and STILL think it's offensive, we're in hell
Me looking for places to download music videos because everything on youtube before 2014 got replaced with 16:9 cropped AI upscale garbage and everyone on r/piracy goes "just use youtube downloader bro"
Not the same thing. Nobody has a problem with translation as a concept, dubs are just an overreach. You don't need them to translate an anime or movie because subtitles exist and get you a closer experience to the original. Books don't have an equivalent to this.
There are Germans who import every single game they buy just to not have that massive USK label ruining their boxes
Oh sure, but when I say anime and vidya should move on from localized names from the 90s I'm Ken-sama ruining people's childhoods or whatever
