There is no such thing as a moral victory....... that’s an excuse and I’m tired of excuses...... find a way to get it done #winnerswin

Your paper has endorsed 0 Iowa Republicans since 2010, yet the state has been Republican that entire time. Your paper has no credibility.

Stop calling Penn State players Iowa State players. The Cyclone players are in Ames. Thanks
“We can’t tax rich people on unrealized stock gains because they haven’t actually made the money until they sell.”
Okay.
Then why does my property tax bill keep rising when my house increases in value?
I didn’t sell it.
I didn’t cash out.
I didn’t put that appreciation in my bank account.
But I’m still paying more every year because the house is supposedly worth more on paper.
Funny how “unrealized gains aren’t real money” gets complicated depending on whose gains we’re talking about.

40% income tax on everything I make.
15.3% self employment tax on my business profit.
23.8% capital gains taxes on my investments.
9.75% sales tax on items that i buy.
$13k/ a year tax on property i own.
I’m sitting here thinking how many times is the same dollar going to be taxed before it belongs to us?

So Costco can check MILLIONS of shoppers right at the door, but government officials pretend applying that exact same standard to elections is rocket science.
Something funny going on here…

No matter who is President, taxation is theft, and inflation is the worst tax of all.
My wife and I were arguing about our grocery bill, so I pulled up an old Target order from February 2020.
28 items.
$64.50.
I rebuilt the exact same cart today.
Same 28 items.
Same store.
No upgrades.
No extras.
$158.30.
That’s $93.80 more for the exact same groceries.
We didn’t suddenly start buying more.
The cart just got 145% more expensive in five years.
They told us inflation was temporary.
They told us it was coming back under control.
They told us the economy was strong.
Apparently our grocery cart didn’t get the memo.
And somehow, not one member of Congress seems to have looked at a grocery receipt in decades.
Because if they had, they’d know exactly what families are feeling.

"It's called drafting. One car tucks behind another. Two cars can go faster than one. They divide the air resistance between them and actually of you have a couple of Sweet N' Low packets I can..."

Activist: "Farmers pump their cows full of antibiotics. It's in every glass of milk."
Dairy farmer: "Do you know what happens if it is?"
Activist: "People drink it."
Dairy farmer: "The tanker gets tested at the gate. One cow's worth of antibiotic in 20,000 litres and the whole load goes down the drain. Every farm on the run that morning gets their milk tipped, and the farm that did it pays for all of it."
Activist: "So you're saying it never happens."
Dairy farmer: "I'm saying a treated cow on this farm gets red tape round her leg, goes to the back of the parlour, and her milk goes in a bucket for 6 days. I treat her like she's radioactive, because financially she is."
Activist: "You still use them."
Dairy farmer: "On a cow that's ill. Same as you. The vet writes it up, the date goes on the wall, and the wall's checked. Use on this farm is about half what it was 10 years ago, and that's every dairy I know."
Activist: "Routine use in feed, then."
Dairy farmer: "Illegal for years. Growth promoters went 20 years ago. You're describing a chicken shed in a country I don't farm in."
Activist: "You can't prove it's not in the milk."
Dairy farmer: "I can prove it 3 times a week, because they test it 3 times a week and send me the sheet. When did you last get a sheet on your oat drink?"
Activist: "That's different."
Dairy farmer: "It is. Nobody tests it. Mine's the most inspected liquid in your kitchen and it's the one you're scared of."

Crop insurance fraud steals from taxpayers and every honest farmer. Nine months behind bars for a multimillion-dollar scheme isn’t accountability. We need more audits, serious sentences and permanent federal crop-insurance bans for fraudulent operations. Cheating cannot be profitable.@SecRollins

Good time to remember to be patient with the guys & gals at the local elevator. Believe it or not, they’re as busy or busier than the farmer. They start in the summer heat w/the earliest BTO’s & finish in the cold w/the latest stragglers. Days are long & the pay often isn’t great

🚨 BREAKING: The Trump administration is reportedly drafting a plan pushed by JD Vance to give federal child care funds to married couples with a STAY-AT-HOME SPOUSE while the other parent works — NYT
The program could be $9K per year for these families
The goal: make it easier for married Americans to let one parent take care of the children, rather than both work and pay others to take care of the children
This could create an incentive for parents to "stay at home with their children"
Apparently, this is similar to a MARCO RUBIO proposal when he was Senator 👀
It sounds like this would be under current federal programs, not new laws passed by Congress
