Republicans campaigned on lowering costs, protecting democracy, and standing up for working families. Yet here they are bribing voters, closing polling sites, and kicking people off the voter rolls. They control every lever of power in Washington, but all we’ve seen from them is lawlessness, lip service, and lies. If they had actually delivered on their promises, they wouldn’t be afraid of your vote.

Here are quick fact checks on 16 of President Trump’s claims last night. 1) He claimed, “Food prices and almost every other item are rapidly going down.” Not even close to true. Federal figures show overall prices keep rising, food prices keep rising, and far more products are getting more expensive than getting cheaper. 2) He claimed, “Every single promise I made you as a candidate, I’ve delivered on.” Clearly not . The war in Ukraine didn’t end within 24 hours of his inauguration, inflation isn’t dead, Mexico hasn’t paid for the wall. Etc. 3) He claimed “over $20 trillion” has been invested in the US this term. This figure is fiction even the White House can’t justify. The White House website says “$11.2 trillion,” and even that is a wild exaggeration. 4) He claimed he "won the presidency three times,” then explicitly said he won in 2020. Just lies. 5) He claimed his ballroom will use “zero tax dollars.” The final breakdown is unclear, but the Secret Service has acknowledged that public dollars will be used at least for security measures related to the project, which includes an underground complex. Some Senate Republicans tried this year to get hundreds of millions in public money allocated in part to project-related security. 6) He claimed the ballroom project is “under budget.” There is no actual public budget for it, and cost estimates have steadily increased – from $200 million to $300 million to $400 million to $600 million. 7) He claimed that former NC governor and now Senate candidate Roy Cooper released the man who went on to kill Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte in 2025. But NC’s corrections department has explained that the man served his full robbery sentence and was not released early. The man's release, in 2020, happened months before the state's 2021 lawsuit settlement over pandemic-era prison conditions that resulted in some other offenders getting released sooner than expected. 8) He claimed Texas Senate candidate James Talarico was seen wearing a mask just “a few months ago.” No evidence of this; other Republicans have mocked Talarico for masking in 2022, four years ago. Trump also claimed, in what mayyy have been a joke, that Talarico was recently spotted running away and throwing up after eating meat at a barbecue. Clearly didn’t happen. 9) He said gas prices were just $1.85 per gallon in Iowa when he visited before the Iran war. The Iowa average that day was $2.57, per AAA, and GasBuddy found just four stations that day under $2 – at $1.97, to be specific – out of 2,036 stations it tracked there. (Maybe Trump was referring to the E85 ethanol blend only some cars can use, which was around $1.85, but he certainly didn’t say that.) 10) He said the US has the lowest drug prices in the world. Experts say that is not true as a general claim, and the White House hasn’t substantiated it. 11) He boasted that more Americans are working than ever before. That’s true, but it’s a basically meaningless stat because the number of people working rises over time as the population rises. Better ways to measure the labor market show that it has been far from historically strong this term. 12) He claimed “zero illegal aliens” have crossed the border over the last 15 months. Not true; state and federal authorities have acknowledged some migrants evaded apprehension during that period. The Trump administration says it hasn’t “released” any migrants into the country after apprehension, but that’s different than having zero people crossing at all. 13) He claimed “25 million” migrants poured into the country under Biden. This is another fictional figure. Through the last full month of Biden’s term, the government had recorded under 11 million nationwide “encounters” with migrants…including millions who were rapidly expelled. Even counting “gotaways,” which the House GOP estimated at under 2.5 million, it’s not 25 million people. 14) He claimed Biden or Democrats allowed “11,888 murderers” to enter the country. This is a gross distortion of federal data about non-citizens who entered the US not just under Biden but over the course of multiple decades, including during Trump’s first administration, and were convicted of homicide at some point, usually in the US after their arrival, but remained in the US because they were still serving prison sentences or their original countries wouldn't take them back. 15) He claimed he’d achieved “no tax on Social Security.” His 2025 law created an additional temporary deduction for seniors, expiring after 2028, but the administration has acknowledged millions of Social Security recipients will continue to pay taxes on their benefits. 16) He claimed “trillions of dollars in tariff revenue have come in.” It was in the hundreds of billions, not close to even $1 trillion, even before the big refunds prompted by the Supreme Court decision that ruled some of the tariffs illegal. BREAKING: HOLY SH*T! Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's son secretly received a top job inside the Trump administration while Alito was ruling on massive cases involving the White House. This is corruption, nepotism, and in-kind bribery all wrapped up in one... Philip Alito, the son of far-right Justice Samuel Alito, was given an appointment as a lawyer at the Treasury Department early on in Trump's second term. His father was aware of the appointment and did nothing to block it, unsurprising since Alito has zero interest in avoiding conflicts of interest or maintaining the legitimacy of the court. This is the same Samuel Alito who was caught accepting bribes from billionaire Paul Singer in the form of luxury jet travel and an expensive fishing vacation. And that's just what we know about. According to NOTUS, four government officials confirmed that Alito's son is working inside the office of the general counsel, which supports Treasury Secretary Bessent. Notus described the arrangement as a "closely guarded secret." Philip Alito, in an apparent effort to maintain a low profile, does not have a public resume, LinkedIn profile, or a presence on the Treasury Department. Most of the images available of him online are older, from when his father was first appointed to the court. He's a ghost in the system, getting paid by our tax dollars, and presumably whispering in his father's ear to tilt rulings in Trump's favor. “Everybody knew who he was. I think it’s fair to say he kept a pretty low profile. I kind of had the impression that he was kind of a little bit sheepish about his celebrity affiliation. You’d go into a meeting and if people were introducing themselves by first and last name, he’d just say ‘Phil,’ not Phil Alito. He’s a pretty soft-spoken guy,” one official stated. The efforts to keep his identity shielded from not only the public, but his co-workers, proves that he knows what he's doing is deeply improper. If there was nothing to hide, he wouldn't need to keep his head down. But Alito, and presumably his father, know that this appointment further damages what little credibility the Supreme Court has left. “There’s no doubt he got that position because of who he is,” another official told NOTUS. “[Advisers] are in all the meetings, so they knew all the issues across the board.” Damningly, the younger Alito was working his Treasury job when the court ruled on Trump's tariffs. While the administration was ultimately defeated, Justice Alito joined with Brett Kavanaugh to rule in favor of Trump. At no point in the process did he disclose in court documents that his son was working for one side, nor did he recuse himself. The administration is insisting that the younger Alito had no role in the case, but this White House lies through its teeth at every turn. And the problem hasn't diminished in the slightest. Trump's $1.776 billion slush fund for January 6th insurrectionists, MAGA loyalist, and Republican child molesters is getting hammered by lawsuits right now. When one of these cases inevitably ends up in front of the Supreme Court, Justice Alito will once again be ruling on a case in which his son has a vested interest in a particular outcome. These crooks are laughing in our faces as they line their pockets, rig the system, and set their children up to do the same for the next generation. Phillip Alito must be fired and Samuel Alito must be impeached! Please ❤️ and share to demand that the proverbial heads start rolling!

Imagine if Biden: • Created a $1.8 billion slush fund to hand out to rioters who assaulted police officers • Banned the IRS from auditing him, his family, and his companies • Accepted a $400 million luxury jet from a foreign monarchy Pardoned hundreds of people who assaulted police officers • Openly promoted his own meme coin while in office • Had family members cutting international business deals while he was in office and directly profiting from them • Repeatedly “joked” about staying in office past two terms • Repeatedly praised Xi, Putin, and Kim Jong Un The outrage would never end. The fact that people are becoming numb to this level of corruption is insane.

House Republicans have abandoned all pretense of even trying to lower costs for the American people. With their poll numbers—and President Trump's—sinking like a stone, they’re working to pass culture-war resolutions and plutocratic legislation to penalize the poor instead of bringing down the high cost of gas, groceries, housing and health care. Democrats are working to make life affordable again for our people. MAGA Republicans want to placate Donald Trump and serve the billionaire class.

Trump said Friday that the Strait of Hormuz situation was "over." It very obviously wasn't. Trump said Friday that Iran agreed "to never close the Strait of Hormuz again.” The next day, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again. Trump said yesterday that Vance isn't going to Pakistan for the talks. Officials quickly said Vance is going to Pakistan for the talks. Trump said this morning that Vance had left and would be there tonight Islamabad time. Officials quickly said Vance is actually leaving tomorrow. Trump said Iran has no military anymore and that "everything's gone." Iran continues to have a military with destructive capabilities. Trump said the pope issued a statement saying Iran can have a nuclear weapon. That never happened.   Trump said nobody expected Iran to retaliate against Gulf countries. That was widely expected. Trump said the only planes the US has really lost in the war have been to friendly fire. He said this at the same event at which he had spoken at length about what happened after Iran shot down a US plane. Story on the president's ever-growing number of false claims on big and small matters related to the war – and his triumphant claims about supposed Iranian concessions that we just can't assume are based in reality: cnn.com/2026/04/20/politics/…

A bill passed the Senate last night 100-0 to fund TSA, the Coast Guard and FEMA. If Speaker Johnson called it for a vote it would pass easily. But he won’t do that. Because Trump has ordered him to keep TSA shut down and keep the chaos. Pure incompetence.
