The entire trilogy proves Geralt isn't a neutral witcher. Even his fellow witcher Serrit was baffled, noting that Geralt feels emotions at a non-human level, to the point of thinking "is it an illness?" Unlike the others, Geralt just cares too much to stay out of it.
