Finding every third-party tool built on it is another. Apparently, AI governance now needs a software bill of materials. #Cybersecurity #Infosec #AI #SupplyChainSecurity
U.S. Government Bans DeepSeek AI and Orders Federal Agencies to Remove All Related Tools Details: cybersecuritynews.com/u-s-go… The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has ordered federal civilian agencies to stop buying DeepSeek products and remove related technology from their IT systems. The action covers products from Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd., its affiliates, and third-party products and services developed using DeepSeek implementations. The notice was filed for public inspection on October 19, 2026, with publication scheduled for October 20. It creates a government supply chain restriction, not a nationwide ban on private use. Businesses and individuals are not prohibited from using DeepSeek by this order. #cybersecuritynews

Remote mentoring rarely happens by accident. If you do not schedule the conversation, ask the question, or make space for feedback, the opportunity may simply disappear.

A green sprint can hide a red project. Stories close. Velocity holds. The decision everyone needs is still waiting three levels above the team.

In an office, feedback can happen in the moment. Remotely, you often have to create the moment. Explore a more intentional approach to coaching remote teams: bit.ly/Coach-Mentor

Silence is harder to read remotely. A quiet team member may be fine, stuck, disengaged, or simply unsure how to ask for help. Good leaders make room for the conversation.

I get skeptical when a framework explains every failure as improper adoption. Sometimes the method was followed. The environment was simply hostile to the outcome.

37 years old and still finding ways to become root. Apparently, some vulnerabilities age better than the systems meant to defend against them. #Cybersecurity #Infosec #OpenBSD #VulnerabilityResearch
‼️ A 37-year-old BSD bug can still help gain root on OpenBSD 7.9. Researchers released a local exploit PoC chaining the shared-memory overflow with a kernel use-after-free, bypassing KARL, SMAP and SMEP. Read - thehackernews.com/2026/10/re…

Remote teams need more than status calls. They need deliberate coaching to replace the learning that used to happen naturally. Read this before your next 1:1: bit.ly/Coach-Mentor

Remote work removed something easy to underestimate: learning by proximity. No desk-side advice. No reading the room. No watching experienced people handle difficult moments.

The team is asked to self-organize. The priorities arrive pre-decided. The deadline is fixed. The dependencies belong to someone else. At some point, empowerment needs decision rights.

Nothing says “remote workforce” like laptops working in U.S. homes while the actual operators are overseas. #Cybersecurity #Infosec #InsiderThreat #IdentitySecurity
🚨 U.S. authorities dismantled over 40 laptop farms and charged 14 people in a North Korean IT worker fraud case. The scheme affected 70+ U.S. companies and generated about $3 million. Employer laptops were hosted in U.S. homes to disguise overseas workers. Read: thehackernews.com/2026/10/us…

A project manager who gets blamed for every unforeseen issue may eventually stop taking calculated risks. That doesn’t improve decision-making. It teaches people to fear the outcome.
