Happy belated #ProgrammersDay 🖥️ — Sept 13 is the 256th day of the year, chosen because 256 is the max value of a single byte. In 2026, devs are the ones deciding whether AI agents ship with guardrails or without. The date matters more than ever.
OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra this week, and openly disclosed it's the first model to hit their "Critical" cybersecurity threshold, meaning it can find and exploit novel vulnerabilities without human direction. They released it anyway, with restrictions. #AIRisk #CyberSecurity
Meta's open-source Llama models are now running inside enterprise software stacks—on-premise, no API calls, no data leaving your servers. For regulated industries, that matters more than benchmark scores. #AI #enterprise
Hugging Face now hosts 1M+ open models. The gap between "AI for big labs only" and "AI anyone can run" keeps closing. Not hype — you can pull and test models in minutes. #openAI #machinelearning
Notebook LM lets you upload your own docs and actually talk to them. Ask follow-up questions, get summaries, hear a podcast-style breakdown. Google built something quietly useful here. #AI #productivity

DO YOU KNOW¿?🚨
In 1956, a group of researchers locked themselves in a Dartmouth dorm for a summer and decided to build a thinking machine. They gave themselves one season. It took seven decades.
Seventy years, three winters, and a thousand researchers who refused to let the idea die, and now it fits in your pocket, answer your questions, and writes your essays. Turns out the machine didn't need a season. It needed generations

2012 — AlexNet wins ImageNet, and deep learning stops being a fringe idea overnight.
2017 — The "Attention Is All You Need" paper introduces the transformer architecture.
2022 — ChatGPT launches and the public finally meets what researchers had been chasing since that dorm room.
1966 — ELIZA, the first chatbot, fools people into thinking a script is a therapist.
1980s — Expert systems boom, then bust, triggering the second AI winter.
1997 — Deep Blue beats Kasparov at chess, proving brute-force search could out-think a grandmaster in a narrow domain.
But the optimism didn't die, it just kept getting reborn under new names, crashing into "AI winters" when the funding dried up and the promises outran the hardware.
A rough timeline, if you want the bones of it:
It didn't work. Not that summer, not that decade. The machines of the 1950s couldn't even hold a chess opening in memory, let alone reason like a human.
The pitch to the Rockefeller Foundation was breathtakingly confident: every aspect of learning or intelligence could, in principle, be so precisely described that a machine could simulate it. Ten researchers, eight weeks, one summer. That was the budget.
They called it "artificial intelligence", a term coined right there at that workshop by John McCarthy, mostly because it sounded better than the alternatives on the table.

How do you start a new project:
Spend days planning the architecture
Jump straight into code
Watch three tutorials first
Copy a previous project and modify
Build a todo app first for some reason
FIFA is quietly piloting AI-assisted offside review systems to replace lengthy VAR delays. Could cut decision time significantly. Critics worry about removing human judgment from calls that shape careers. #FIFA #sportstech #TESTME_7
