I've been trading for 3 years. Here are 7 things I wish someone had told me on day one. ๐Ÿงต

Overtrading is the most common โ€” and most expensive โ€” habit in retail trading. And almost nobody tracks it. Signs you're overtrading: โ†’ You feel like you "need" to be in a trade โ†’ Your best days have 2-3 trades, your worst have 8+ โ†’ You trade to recover losses, not because there's a setup โ†’ You feel bored when you're flat Boredom is not a trade signal. #daytrading #tradingpsychology #forextrader

A thought worth sitting with: The trades you're most confident about are often your worst executions. Confidence = loosening the rules slightly. "This one's obvious" = entering without full confirmation. Your journal is humbling in the best way. It shows you that your conviction level and your actual win rate are barely correlated.

Traders quit strategies that are working all the time. They also keep strategies that are broken for too long. Here's how to tell the difference โ€” and why most traders get it wrong ๐Ÿงต #daytrading #trading #tradingpsychology #tradingjournal

The rule of thumb: Never change a strategy during a losing streak. Wait for 30 clean, rule-following trades. If the edge isn't there after 30 honest trades โ€” then you change the strategy. If it is there โ€” you change nothing except your discipline.

The market doesn't care that you missed the move. It will have another one. The traders who last the longest are the ones who are completely unbothered by setups they didn't take. "Not my setup. Next." That detachment is a skill. You build it by reviewing your data and seeing exactly how much FOMO trades cost you.

FOMO has cost traders more money than bad strategies. It's the trade you weren't supposed to take. The one that "looks like it's moving." The one where you're in before you even know your stop. And the worst part? You usually know it's a FOMO trade while you're taking it. A journal doesn't stop FOMO. But it shows you the pattern โ€” and the pattern is always the same. > zentryjournal.com โ€” free to start. #daytrading #tradingpsychology #forextrader

What % do you risk per trade? Drop it below ๐Ÿ‘‡ No wrong answers โ€” genuinely curious what the @Zentry_Journal community is working with.

Quick maths most traders have never done: If you risk 2% per trade and lose 5 in a row: โ†’ You're down ~9.6% (compounding) If you risk 1% per trade and lose 5 in a row: โ†’ You're down ~4.9% The difference sounds small. But psychologically, 9.6% down changes how you trade your next position. 4.9% doesn't. Risk size affects psychology. Psychology affects execution. #trading #riskmanagement #tradingpsychology

The most overlooked skill in trading isn't entries. It's position sizing. Most traders size by feel. That's the problem. Here's what your journal will show you if you actually run the data ๐Ÿงต

Consistent position sizing is more important than win rate. A 50% win rate with volatile sizing is unpredictable. A 40% win rate with consistent 1% risk is manageable and scalable. Your journal shows you which one you actually are.
