My thoughts when I hear “first generation-Latino”
I’m a first-generation Latino.
I watched my parents grind every single day so my siblings and I could have a better life than they ever did.
Everything I’m chasing now is for them.
To honor their sacrifice.
To prove their struggle wasn’t wasted.
To take the opportunity they gave me and run as far as I possibly can with it.
If an immigrant can come to America with nothing, learn a new language, work 2–3 jobs, and STILL build a great life for their family…
Then what’s your excuse?
It’s wild to me how some people are born here, speak the language, get free education and still do nothing with the privilege handed to them.
Stop acting helpless.
Put in the work.
Build the life your parents dreamed of for you.
