I swear I wish I could erase the whole movie from my memory so that I watch it for the first time again. Masterpiece.

I don't want to shame any particular woman here, but publicly announcing that the #RussellBrand conviction must be wrong because you went home with him and he didn't rape you makes about as much sense as saying 'well, I left 25 Cromwell Street alive, so Fred West's innocent.'

Thinking of the only time Brand ever made me laugh (looking in vain for two minutes through his Bible on Piers Morgan) reminded me of the only time his mate J Ross made me laugh too - crying in public about *arguing* with his wife. RIP, Andrew Sachs.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

The Maltese Falcon was released 85 years ago today! Starring Humphrey Bogart in his first leading role as private eye Sam Spade, the film became one of the defining classics of film noir. In the words of Bogie's famous ad lib, it was "the, uh, stuff that dreams are made of."
Even atheists are praying for you. You are a good man. Please get well.
I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.

We former fans of Donald J. Trump can all remember where we were when we finally admitted that the POTUS was potty.
We would now be required to grimly gorge on so much humble pie that we might as well go in for a competitive eating contest and make some money out of it.
For me, it was when he appeared this week to be making sport with the awful event in Doncaster, when a mentally disturbed young man entered a tiger's enclosure in a 'wildlife park' and was killed by the imprisoned beast.
