After a subpar run that shaved off only 0.7 seconds (resultant PB of 05:28.38), I achieved my sub-5:25 goal in Mario Master. Not sure if I can do sub-5:20, but we’ll see.

My boss threatened to suspend me because I refused to drive to the office for a VIRTUAL meeting. At 5:47 AM, my phone started buzzing like somebody had died. It was my manager. “Good morning. This is the final reminder. You are required to be physically seated in the office by 6:30 AM for the 7:00 AM virtual meeting. Failure to comply will be recorded as insubordination.” I stared at the message. Then I checked the meeting invite. Microsoft Teams. Virtual meeting. Camera optional. No client visit. No presentation in person. No equipment to set up. Just 14 people sitting in separate locations, staring at their laptops. I texted back. “Noted. I’ll be attending virtually, as the meeting format suggests.” Three minutes later, my manager called me. “Are you telling me you’re not coming into the office?” “I’m telling you I’ll be online for the meeting.” “You need to understand that this is a company, not your personal playground.” “Absolutely. Can you show me the policy that says employees must commute to attend a virtual meeting?” Silence. Then he said the one thing that made me sit straight up in bed. “Young people these days think they can question everything. If I tell you to be in that office, you get in your car and come.” I almost laughed. Not because it was funny. Because this man had scheduled a meeting about improving operational efficiency, then wanted employees to waste two hours commuting just to join the same call they could attend from home. And here's where things got messy. I wasn't some random new hire who'd been there for two weeks. I'd been with the company for three years. I'd automated two reporting processes, trained four new employees, and built a tracking system that saved my team hours every week. My performance reviews were excellent. But apparently, none of that mattered as much as my ability to obey a pointless instruction without asking questions. At 6:15 AM, another message came through. “Failure to report to the office by 6:30 AM will result in disciplinary action, including possible suspension.” I screenshotted everything. Then I opened my laptop, got dressed from the waist up, made coffee, and logged into Teams at 6:55 AM. My camera was on. My notes were ready. I was the first person in the meeting. At 7:02 AM, my manager joined from his office. He looked at my name on the screen. “Where are you?” “Online and ready for the meeting.” “I asked where you physically are.” “At home.” His face changed. “Leave this meeting and report to the office immediately.” I said, “I'm happy to follow any written attendance policy. For now, I'm here for the meeting you've scheduled.” He muted himself. Then unmuted. Then muted himself again. Two coworkers had their cameras off, but I could see their names lighting up as they unmuted and muted themselves. One of them accidentally turned her camera on. She was literally sitting in her car outside the office building, trying to connect to the same virtual meeting. I nearly lost it. Then our director joined. “Why are we discussing someone's physical location instead of the quarterly report?” My manager immediately switched personalities. “Oh, no issue. We're just confirming attendance.” The director looked at me. “Are you present?” “Yes.” “Can you share your report?” “Already have it open.” I shared my screen and walked everyone through the numbers. For the next 25 minutes, the meeting went perfectly. I answered every question, explained the data, and gave the team three recommendations that cut unnecessary steps out of our workflow. When I finished, the director said, “Excellent work. Send me that proposal this morning.” Then he ended the call. I thought that was it. Girl, I was WRONG. At 9:14 AM, HR sent me a calendar invitation titled: “Mandatory Discussion: Workplace Conduct.” My stomach dropped. I walked into the conference room, and there sat my manager, HR, and the director. ..........

Share your first launch and most recent! My first was NROL-16, launched by the next-to-last Titan IVB rocket; and the last from Cape Canaveral. Took place on April 29, 2005. Watched from the Apollo/Saturn V Center’s VIP site. My most recent was GPS-III 6, launched atop a Falcon 9. Took place on January 18, 2023. Watched from Playalinda Beach. Coincidentally, both launches took off from SLC-40.
Share your first launch and most recent! SpaceX Demo-2 and Artemis II I’ve tried to see more launches this year but failed a-lot sadly

Real talk, I hate the negativity in the community recently. Theres an odd reason to hate on things when we should be supporting them. Starship gets hated because of Elon or just random doubt even though its planned to do a whole bunch already . and is making progress towards more flights. SLS gets hated even though it is literally helping return people to the moon. New Glenn gets hated due to its pad explosion and NG3 failure but is rapidly making progress for a comeback. There is tons of other examples but these are just three main ones, its rather annoying to see. We are a SPACEFLIGHT community. We should be celebrating spaceflight

The Atlas V has been flying since 2002, but it is sadly being retired soon, with only six flights left on its list. Throughout its life, it has flown 11 different variants. The variant that flew the most was the 401 “Slick Atlas,” with 41 flights, and the variant that flew the least was the 511 “Big Slider,” with one flight. What is your favorite Atlas variant? Mine are the N22 “Body Guard” and the 551 “Bruiser.”

The shutting down process on an old computer was more complicated than simply pressing the Power button.
Quote this with something that was popular in the 90s/early 2000s that you couldn't possibly explain to someone born after 2005

Humans have lived on this planet for nearly 300,000 years. Only 3, the crew of Soyuz 11, did not die on Earth. Soyuz 11’s astronauts were the only humans in history to die in space, and they died because they weren’t wearing IVA suits when their capsule depressurized.
Not only should mandatory seat belt use on commercial flights end, but so should the use of IVA spacesuits. In their 60+ years of history in service, zero lives have been saved by these suits and in real contingencies they failed to save lives at all. Yet astronauts still spend huge amounts of time just to learn how to don and doff them. Today these suits exist more as a symbol. Wearing them is more for show or status. Once a large enough crewed spacecraft enters service, we could build in a separate, independently pressurized compartment to serve as a refuge in the event of fire or depressurization. This would free up a huge amount of time for astronauts, allowing them to focus much more on their real work.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a good game. The first Mario & Luigi game where I devoted my time into playing through the whole thing and completing as many tasks as I could. There were some difficult parts where I had to look up a guide; I blindly played through the game for the most part. And the loading times seemed too long from my perspective. Even though I haven't replayed Brothership because I was satisfied with beating it one time only, it was a great experience. And what a relief it was after defeating Reclusa. Literally cried tears of joy.
What is your opinion bout this game?
