Teachers have to right to work in safety. Students have the right to learn in a safe building. Sending support to @CTULocal1, students and families. #supportchicagoteachers
Grateful for the many folks who've made this happen again. #outdooreducation #outdoorlearning #ScienceandMathInstitute #innovativeschool #lovemyschool
December's been busy as our #outdoor learning program restarted w/ support from #SAMi & outdoor learning volunteers. Over 1/2 our students have headed to Pt. Defiance for field study w/ more trips to come @tacomaschools @PEIwashington @metparkstacoma @waOSPI #outdoorlearning
#educator hivemind, what books do you recommend for an elementary STEAM/PBL school with an outdoor ed program to use in a book study? All suggestions appreciated! #pblchat #STEM #STEAM #bookstudy #outdoorlearning #teaching

After telling me she'd graduated summa cum laude last June, my sibling shared the hurt she still feels more than 40 yrs after her teacher said it was a good thing she was pretty, because she definitely wasn't smart.😭😭 #DoBetter #wordsmatter #educators #SEL

Reason #2,564 I love my school. Our teachers aren't afraid to lean into authentic learning opportunities & help students feel the wonder, magic & sometimes the sadness of everyday life. @edutopia @tacomaschools @waOSPI @carrollcm88 @WholeChild253 #pbltwitter #realworldlearning
Our youngest students engaged in authentic field experience when a neighborhood tree was felled. The arborist cut a cookie for kinder scientists to learn from. Another #pbl journey begins..

Before & after 1st day of school. Great start at @ShermanSTEAM w/lots of joy, nervousness & non-stop activity. It's a little funky not to have my own class, but I ❤ getting to work with all the teams AND all of our amazing students.

An unvaccinated teacher infected 12 students
Who then infected 14 other kids, adults
Think being unvaccinated is about personal freedom?
Nonsense
Kids, adults in schools also have rights
Like not being unnecessarily infected
We need #VaccineMandates

Please show your care for other humans and get vaxxed.

Joining @KateBolduan @CNN: We are seeing more breakthrough infections because we are seeing more infections. The unvaccinated are driving #covid19 spread, and it's spilling over to affect the vaccinated. That's not failure of the vaccine--it's failure of people to get vaccinated.
What about teachers and school staff?
Governor Jay Inslee announced all state employees and most health and long-term care providers must receive the COVID-19 vaccine by October 18. kiro7.com/news/local/gov-ins…
