Personal News:
Next year I'll be leading the district's new Entrepreneurial Studies program. The district will be opening a student-led/run coffee shop pulling from all four high schools.
Very excited about this amazing opportunity! @NKCSchools
Today is the last day of the 2023-2024 school year, and it has been absolutely amazing!
It was incredible to watch students take ownership of the new @NKCSchools off-campus coffee shop @classactcoffee and have buy-in.
Amazing things happened with: (1/3)
- Taking students on two field trips to learn about coffee origins, the global economy, and processes
- Welcoming and introducing students to five guest speakers
- 10 market value assets earned (2/3)

It's been so amazing working with these fantastic student leaders with the @MissouriDECA state action team! Incredible all that they are accomplishing.
Such an incredible marketing lesson to watch in real-time! My 10-year-old who had 0 interest in football is wants to watch every game, asking about rules, etc.
I know the NFL didn't plan to have this connection, but how can other sports or industries become more approachable.
My daughters asked if Taylor Swift's boyfriend is playing today. They now want a Travis Kelce jersey.
There is a marketing lesson here.
The NFL probably never thought they could reach 8-10 year old girls but when you connect the right influencer with the right story to your brand, your audience widens.
I think about this with cold plunges and many other male brands as well. The right positioning, storytelling and ambassadors to tell it will widen the audience from performance and hustle culture to people struggling with mental health, women struggling with high cortisol, hormonal inflammation and more.
But this only happens when you diversify the team thinking about the product and brand.
Diversify your team = Diversify your audience

🚨 Today, Tuesday, January 23, will be our second virtual learning day due the icy road conditions. Superintendent @RochelDaniels made the announcement with some help from @NKCEarlyEd student Mariah!

This morning‘s drive had numerous slick spots. With temperatures currently hovering at freezing, I believe a virtual learning day will best ensure everyone’s safety @NKCSchools Our crews have been hard at work all morning, but this is the best decision for all. Stay safe!
