They had the 3 Lions for the World Cup & now Pennywise for Halloween.

This has made me so upset. Without The Worlds End I wouldn’t be here - it’s where my parents met almost 52 years ago. It was full of history that we can n ver get back. I hope they throw the book at the scum that did this.
🚨 Pub News:
The World's End in Tilbury, which was a historic 300-year-old Grade II-listed pub that's served generations has been torched and destroyed. @Britains___Pubs
It was one of the few surviving pubs in the whole of Tilbury, which is a highly populated area. Pubs were supposed to be cheap places to bring people together as opposed to overtaxed, overpriced bars. Now, people sit in their homes or aimlessly roam the streets.
If this is proved to be deliberate, due to the cultural significance of Britain's pubs, I would class this as terrorism.
So far, all I know is that there has been an arrest (or arrests).
Crews from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service were called to the The Worlds End Pub in Tilbury, Thurrock, external, at 15:30 BST on Wednesday (23/09/2026).
It had a wonderful, decorative interior. Not too long ago, @ChelseaDan5 took the time to have a day out in the area just to visit this gem. People around the world have little idea how much our pubs mean to us and what their decline represents within our hearts and minds.
Fabulous evening with a private tour at the College of Arms this evening. The knowledge & enthusiasm of our guide, the Somerset Herald of Arms, Mark Scott, was immense. If you get the chance to go then I highly recommend it.

Seriously @SkySports - a tribute to Ludo Mikloško and you cut to credits and then the commentator talking waffle over the top. Surely you could have shown some respect and that could have waited for a few moments.

This news has genuinely made me very sad. Dolly was a brightness in the world and there’s a huge gap left by her death.
The story of Jermaine and Bradley always brings a little tear to my eye. He showed such a different side of footballers that you often don’t see.

Jermain Defoe:
"I remember during my second season at Sunderland, our press officer, Louise Wanless, told me one day, 'There's a boy who wants to meet you.'
She explained that Bradley Lowery had neuroblastoma and that I was his favourite player.
I said, 'Of course. No problem.'
I didn't know what to expect. I thought he'd be really shy and quiet.
But as soon as he walked into the dressing room, he ran straight over, jumped onto my lap and gave me the biggest hug.
After that first meeting, I asked Louise to put me in touch with his family so I could visit him in hospital.
At first, I went with other players, but then I started going on my own. I just wanted to spend as much time with him as I could.
We had a natural connection. A bond that I still can't explain.
I got so used to having him around Sunderland that I really struggled after he was gone.
He taught me to appreciate life and the people around me so much more.
He changed me. He changed my whole perspective." ❤️
Working in property I was explaining to a new joiner why we have the buddy system in place and the story of Suzy and everything her family have done to try and prevent what happened to Suzy happening to another woman.
#SuzyLamplugh
Thank you to everyone who has stood with us, shared Suzy’s story and helped keep this conversation going.
Together, we will continue working towards a world where everyone can live free from violence, aggression and fear.

Not my usual read but a good one so far & well researched.
Set in Bethnal Green just after the 173 deaths on the tube steps in 1943.
Reading it in the platform where the library is said to have been based, whilst waiting for the tube.

A real long shot but can people retweet this please.
Yesterday all my items were stolen in Eastbourne including my stats book which has 20 years worth of details in. Laptops, phones, clothes, shavers etc can all be replaced but this can’t and is useless to anyone else. It’s in a plastic folder you can see in the left hand side of this photo. Can anyone in that neck of the woods please keep an eye out. I’m gutted about this.

Culture clash! Music and football.

“Is this a real baby!?” 😆😆😆
You can totally tell who is a big brother, uncle or dad. And who has never been near a baby before in their life.
One of the local pubs showing its support for the men’s #England football team. With The Bard himself as our new striker!?

I’ve been seeing this ‘phrase’ in Bethnal Green for several years now. Seems the farting epidemic has spread…
This photo was taken in April 2024.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Crimestoppers have launched a public appeal to identify a man caught on CCTV spray-painting the phrase “I FARTED IN YOGA” onto a hoarding on Uxbridge Road in Shepherds Bush on Saturday 2 May 2026.
The CCTV footage, released by the council as part of the appeal, shows the man writing the phrase in large capital letters complete with a copyright symbol, before stepping back to admire his work and adding a crude cartoon ghost next to it. He then stood casually by a public bin, vaping, while members of the public including school children and a cyclist passed by.
The council has since painted over the graffiti at public expense.
