Unpopular opinion, but so many of the “details” that trainers obsess with and spend minutes explaining in their sessions are excuses to over-coach and feel more relevant… Many small adjustments in footwork, body positioning, etc. simply are not the highest bang-for-your-buck when you have an hour to get a player better at basketball. And even if they are, we underestimate (1) how well players can and do learn by themselves (2) how much more efficient we can be with our teaching, and (3) how much room there is for functional variability between players
