Rowan Moore in The Observer.
As we prepare to see the last fond days of Corbyn's leadership, a fond memory from the mid-1990s, and a day I spent with him in Whitehall, at the Cabinet office, seeking major change at Archway Tower, when the Govt rented much of the notorious, wind-lashed eyesore.
I've been running through the likely Tory cabinet we will start hearing about on Friday. Vote Johnson, get the ERG.
With proper housing for all a critical political issue, ironic and disturbing that private developers are major donors to Tories, who treat housing as short term economic growth, abolished affordable housing and cultivated the fungus of private landlords and home-insecurity.
Travelling on the train from Birmingham through the ravaged industrial, Chinese import-drenched, overdrawn, stressed, Midlands and home counties, where thousands of people inside their private-rented energy-inefficient homes are weighing up their tactical voting options.
A market researcher advising the planning dept once said, never consult the public after 20 Nov because everyone's drunk with Christmas. Tomorrow we will squeeze in a vote between stocking fillers and secret Santa's, and turn a national crisis into a confusing mess.
I went to my local hustings yesterday in Bishops Stortford. A civil, engaged audience, sincere interesting answers. I am deeply sorry that the candidate with the least zest, knowledge, insight and vision will win the seat for the tories.
Shopping, I'm finding it hard to find any durable item not made in China. I think B***t is a devilish distracting device from our dependence on the Orient.
Great to reflect on the wonder of Changing Chelmsford and those wonder people we didn't have time to name @citedesignLDN @leonieramondt @NezhapiDr Heather, Yogesh, Edith, Malcolm, Spleeny...
What a stimulating evening with UK co-authors, an editor and guests at the London launch of our new book; 'Our City - Countering Exclusion in Public Space' published by STIPO & European Placeshaping Network.

Why did the City of London allow this bloated. over-scaled 'fuck off' building ruining the cluster?

Go to town and buy in proper shops. Shun the faceless, placeless web on Black Friday.

Outside Highway & Islington tube, excited to see the PO building gone! The public realm waited 25 years for this.
