Bad coaching makes a difference. Carr had a less talented team with more drama in the playoffs last season.
@derekcarrqb didn't suddenly forget how to play football, just as Josh McDaniels didn't suddenly learn how to coach football on this game.

I LOVE this! When FM was training at my house years ago this was my biggest message to him & all the other QBs here: Take Ownership of Your Offense! Always ask the WHY, challenge everything (in a good way) & when doing it, you always have to have the knowledge to back it up or it carries no weight!
Very few QBs have the conviction to do this, afraid to step on toes & offend their coach or never gain the knowledge needed! There is only ONE person with ball in their hands when it matters, so you better be comfortable with what you are being asked to do!
I also believe that any GOOD coach would want to talk about the WHY as much as possible & would welcome the challenge to DEFEND their WHY or find a BETTER way of doing something!

Really good read on Mendoza, Spytek and the Raiders pre-draft process. 👍
Share 1: Mark Davis knew it. GM John Spytek knew it. And the football-watching faction of America wasn’t in the dark, either.

A MOMENT #RAIDERS FANS WILL NEVER FORGET:
When quarterback Derek Carr threw a dime to wide receiver Seth Roberts, who made an INSANE PLAY to walk off the #Buccaneers in one of the craziest games of the decade.
🤯🤯🤯
A game for the ages… xitter.cf/ONETWO11x2px/status/20…
THIS IS ABSURD…
In 2016, the #Raiders set an #NFL record 23 PENALTIES in just one game against the #Bucaneers.
The Raiders and Derek Carr ended up winning the game 30 to 24 in OT, with the team having 6 penalties in overtime alone.
Carr ended up still passing for 513 yards, overcoming over 200 yards taken away from penalties.

Some thoughts on the Dianna Russini - Mike Vrabel situation.
At the very least, with both of them being married to other people, the photos are not a good look.
Two major things also come into play here: conflict of interest and journalistic integrity.
Russini is a senior NFL reporter for a major outlet. Her job is to gather intel and information from major NFL sources. She’s reported on the AJ Brown situation the most of any insider and the Patriots are the team mentioned the most as an AJ destination, and she’s seen holding hands and hugging Mike Vrabel, who’s had a close relationship with AJ for years and is the head coach of the Patriots.

The #Raiders are hiring a QB coach after all. Mike Sullivan has been tabbed to work with presumptive No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, sources tell The Insiders.
It’ll be Sullivan’s fifth stint as a QB coach — two with the #Giants, one each with the #Steelers and #Broncos.

Was the Maxx Crosby trade situation just a case of buyer’s remorse from the Ravens?

“I’m knowing as a Raven, these people ain’t moving right”
If the Ravens were conducting business the way the rules allow I have no problem with that. If they were dissatisfied with @CrosbyMaxx’s medical that’s ok, but what’s not ok is to treat any player & their family in that manner.
Maxx Crosby deserved respect, transparency, & to be treated in the manner he’s earned. The Ravens did not do that. Eric DeCosta’s may still ring, but he should be reminded it isn’t because of him.
