You reduce crime by eliminating poverty. The reason so called nice neighborhoods have lower crime rates is because people’s basic needs are being met. It is not because of police, alarm systems, or neighborhood associations. Poverty creates crime.

If the vacationing teens selected Scent of a Woman rather than the unmarked tape in The Ring they would have had a much better time

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

If the working class had as much solidarity as rapists, we’d have complete control of the means of production by now.

Interesting note on Providence mayor: David Morales got more votes in the Democratic primary than any Democrat this century, including Cicilline in 2002 and 2006, Taveras in 2010, Elorza in 2014 and 2018, and Smiley in 2022 and 2026.

Iñarritu might have lost the studio 150 million, garnered the rejection of the critics and lost most of his pull in the industry, but today he gained something more important: my approval.

Periodic reminder that the death penalty: -Is not statistically a deterrent to murder. -Costs the system far more than life imprisonment. -Is unevenly applied and highly dependent on the competence of your lawyer. -And also leads to nightmarishly draconian scenes like the below.

“i love ai but not when it affects me” 😭😭
Kelly Clarkson to Las Culturistas on AI music: “It’s controversial, I don’t care - I love AI. There’s very amazing things with AI that I’m obsessed with it…BUT, when you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue. I think there should be a separate chart. I think it’s welcome to the table, it’s really cool and creative what we’re going to create musically with AI…but I don’t think they should be competing with humans…but there can be an appetite for both.”

Pete Davidson says “the purpose of using AI” on Doug Liman’s upcoming “Bitcoin” movie was to avoid traveling to numerous locations and make it for “a smaller amount of money”: “We were trying to shoot a $250 million movie.” youtu.be/zsxE2oQgXcg
