Juniors are getting squeezed yes, but what is all this nonsense about seniors losing jobs? Or that tech jobs have disappeared?

Does every business ad on the main street in your town look like this now? Ya know, @canva isn't that hard to use.

Being a software dev in SF is like being an actor in LA. I’m doing hoodrat stuff in SF and see this

OK we get it, tech interviews suck. I break down the 3 most common ones (for JS devs) in a video since people don't read any more: youtu.be/RDRgDsiZRxg

My best networking hack? Get a podcast. I recently interviewed one of my favorite tech YouTubers @jherr who shares tips for junior devs learning React and JS, his takes on the tech content creator space and how he deals with dyslexia. youtu.be/883nvJWd7n0

A couple years ago I started making challenges for JS devs who want to learn the hard stuff. Migrations, unit tests, caching strategies and all the stuff that you usually learn by trial and error. It isn't great for beginners but if you actually do the projects, you're going to learn a hell of a lot. JavaScriptProsApp.com

This video I created on how to suck less at getting a job in software has a lot more negative comments than usual. I get it. I'm not saying that it's easy to get hired. I'm just saying, if you were my friend, this is the advice I'd give you youtube.com/watch?v=QcoVsvp4…

Outside of FAANG interviews, I have NEVER been asked to traverse a tree or reverse a linked list. I did however once get asked to create a snake game with HTML, CSS and JS. I'm not sure how related it was to the role but it was pretty fun. 😅 Because I like you and you're probably a nerd if you're reading this - I've created a partially done version of the snake game for you to complete. It's missing functionality within the the TODOs in the comments. If you figure out the problem and post it - please tag me! codepen.io/brian_jenney/pen/…

Plot twist: Honestly, I think both ways I've written this simple function are OK. BUT if you're writing code and choosing between being clever and being read-able, ALWAYS choose read-ability. The consumer of your code is another bag of flesh.
