In England, the NHS reported waiting lists of more than 7 million cases, and nearly 80,000 patients were removed from waitlists because they died. In Europe, it also takes nearly 20 months before patients can access a new drug after approval.

These are the disastrous results of socialized medicine in Europe, and Democrats are racing to import this very model to America. The runaway 340B program has already plagued U.S. healthcare, with hospitals exploiting discounts without passing on savings to patients.

As @HL_Impact's Cameron Sholty writes in @theblaze, “States must reject attempts to import failed European health policies and government control into our health care system.” American patients deserve proven and market-based healthcare solutions, not a government takeover. theblaze.com/columns/opinion…

The FDA’s planned drug ad rule threatens a dangerous precedent: Make truthful advertising so expensive that companies stop altogether. Burying drug ads in mandatory disclosures could give future administrations a blueprint to target any industry they dislike. Regulators shouldn’t be able to price lawful speech out of existence.

.@nytimes makes itself party to a political hit job on a senator who’s consistently fought to protect patients, improve healthcare price transparency, and lower costs. Unlike hospitals, many of which avoid taxes and have access to federal government grants and other reimbursement schemes when they treat uninsured/underinsured patients, private practice doctors are on their own when patients don’t pay.

When rural OB-GYNs can't get paid by their patients, they go out of business and communities lose access to vital healthcare. That seems to matter less to @nytimes than getting clicks for disparaging a Republican who served his community his entire adult life.

The Times would have done better to turn their investigative eye on the billion-dollar hospitals that do this on an industrial scale, the kind that also run paid posts through their outlet, while also bilking taxpayers and gouging patients. nytimes.com/2026/09/08/us/po…

NEW: Empowering bureaucrats to curtail corporate speech and limit access to medical information gives unelected officials veto power over what information Americans are allowed to hear. That’s a dangerous precedent. Patients deserve transparency, access to information and the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions.

In 2024, the U.S. spent $65 BILLION on improperly enrolled Obamacare recipients, with roughly 60% tied to Medicaid Expansion, per @Paragon_Inst. The Biden admin’s outright refusal to enforce eligibility rules was a catastrophic failure to protect taxpayer dollars. The Trump admin is now restoring integrity and accountability by fighting this kind of waste, fraud, and abuse.
🔥$65 BILLION - @Paragon_Inst's estimate of federal spending on improperly enrolled Obamacare enrollees in 2024. ~60% of the problem is Medicaid expansion and ~40% is the exchanges. While Congress created clear eligibility rules, they are not enforced. paragoninstitute.org/paragon…

Socialist calls for “Medicare for All” neglect the reality of socialized medicine. In the UK, thousands of patients were receiving “corridor care,” treatments in the hallways due to massive overcrowding. In Canada, the median wait time for specialist treatment exceeded 28 weeks.
Britain spends hundreds of billions on its government-run health system. Millions still buy private insurance because the NHS cannot always deliver timely care. Implementing Medicare for All would take that escape hatch away from Americans. nypost.com/2026/08/19/opinio…

Both countries spend hundreds of billions on government-run healthcare. Dangerously long wait times, overcrowding, and limited alternatives — if any — are the disastrous results.

A new study from @TomasPhilipson examined the first two years of the IRA’s Drug Price Negotiation Program, finding that it will increase the long-term cost of negotiated medicines. Price controls reduce the incentive for generic competitors to enter the market, ultimately raising costs for patients.

Government price-setting doesn’t alleviate costs for consumers; it impedes free market principles, hinders competition, and drives up the long-term price of medicine. Read the full report below. 👇 bpb-us-w2.wpmucdn.com/voices…

We’ve entered the golden age of American medical innovation: sickle-cell disease, cystic fibrosis, and hepatitis C — all curable. Yet patients lack access. The solution isn’t single-payer; it’s smarter deals: guarantee the market, price by region, and reward volume over margin.

Operation Warp Speed demonstrated advance-purchase guarantees work, Gilead effectively applied tiered pricing, and Beyfortus prioritized reach over margin. The blueprint exists. Time to use it. H/t @darshaksanghavi @WSJopinion wsj.com/opinion/lower-drug-p…

Hospital consolidation is making health care more expensive. A knee replacement at Catawba Valley Medical Center costs about $16,000. At Mission Hospital, just over an hour away, the same procedure under the same insurance plan costs around $40,000.

Why? Mission was formed by merging the region’s two largest hospitals, leaving patients with less competition and giving the system more power to demand higher prices. Patients deserve competition, transparency, and the power to decide where their health care dollars go.
