After what happened in Tennessee this week, I want to ask you to examine your conscience about capital punishment. Not your political side. Not a quick emotional reaction. Your conscience. The state attempted to execute Christa Pike by lethal injection. She was convicted of a horrific murder. After two doses of the drug, she remained alive and was taken to a hospital. None of that makes the question morally simple. Do you believe executions truly make society safer? Do you believe they are necessary for justice? Or have we come to think that killing even the great criminals among us is something to be satisfied by? Be honest with yourself. There is danger in growing comfortable with another person’s death, even when that person has done something monstrous. It does not heal a victim’s family. It does not restore the dead. And it can poison our moral judgment. In 2025, executions were carried out in only 17 countries worldwide, not counting the hidden numbers in China. Look at governments most eager to execute: Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, North Korea, and others. Is that the company we want to keep when speaking of justice? The United States recorded more than 20,000 homicides in 2024, a rate near six per 100,000 people. The European Union, where every member has abolished the death penalty, recorded about 3,930 intentional homicides in 2023, under one per 100,000. That does not prove abolition causes less murder. It does show that killing prisoners is not necessary for a society to be safe. The National Research Council found that existing research cannot tell us whether the death penalty deters murder more than long imprisonment. The idea that people about to commit murder calmly decide not to because they may someday be executed is not established by the evidence. “But it is in the Bible.” Yes, the Bible contains capital punishment. It also gives us the crucified Lord. Christ tells us to put away the sword, to love our enemies, and to leave vengeance to God. Scripture recognizes the state’s authority to punish crime. But Christians are not called simply to reproduce every ancient civil penalty in a society that can securely imprison its most dangerous offenders. None of this excuses murder or diminishes the suffering of victims and their families. They deserve justice, care, truth, and to be remembered. But when a person can safely be kept in prison for life, why take away every remaining possibility of repentance, faith, and even some small good done from within a prison cell? We have the capacity to protect society without killing prisoners. To be pro-life must include refusing to kill even the great criminals among us when it is not necessary. A life sentence protects society and leaves room for God to work. That should matter to Christians.

The attempted killing of Christa Pike is one more exposure of the cruelty involved in the death penalty, now masked as a medicinal death (“putting someone to sleep”).

A Prayer for Purpose & Calling Lord God, I come before You today burning with a holy hunger, a deep and unquenchable longing to live the life You created me for, to walk fully and fearlessly in the calling You placed on my life before I ever drew my first breath. I was not made for mediocrity. I was not made to merely exist. I was made for purpose, Your purpose, and today I am saying yes to every part of it! Ignite me afresh, Lord! Burn away every layer of complacency, every voice that has told me I am too ordinary, too late, or too flawed to be used by You. For Your Word declares that You chose the foolish things of this world to confound the wise, that Your strength is perfected in weakness, and that the gifts and calling You have placed upon my life are irrevocable. I will not apologize for them. I will not shrink from them. I will walk in them boldly! Show me clearly, Lord, the specific assignment You have for me in this season. Open the doors that only You can open, and give me the courage to walk through them without hesitation. Let every gift, every experience, every scar and every triumph be consecrated to Your purposes, nothing wasted, everything redeemed for Your glory! I declare that my life has meaning. My work has eternal value. And the calling You have placed within me will not die unfulfilled because You are faithful to complete what You have begun! Use me, Lord. Every part of me. For Your kingdom and Your glory alone! Amen.

The 1977 CBS NFL Today intro is fucking spectacular. The plays get progressively more illegal and fucked up to the point I was half expecting some guy to get eaten by a lion on the field. It’s like a Naked Gun bit. Do yourself a favor and watch this.

Ossoff: We see a faithless president, self-dealing, while he depicts himself as Christ, while he depicts the Obamas as apes, while he plunges the nation recklessly into war, plunders our health care, and sends prices soaring.  And while the people pay more than ever for groceries and housing and health care, he builds a monument to himself.  While a cancer patient loses health coverage, he adorns his office in gold.  Voting rights laws are dismantled, prisons for immigrants are full of children, and all the while we see this wickedness advanced and defended by those who wrap themselves in the banner of righteous faith.  But we ask, where in Scripture are we commanded to deny care to the sick, to take from those with the least to give to those with the most, to violate the house of worship to hunt down the refuge

🚨 What if the secret to success isn’t talent or luck… but one simple daily choice? Nick Saban drops truth: Every single day, you face the same 2 questions: 1. Something you KNOW you should do… but don’t FEEL like doing? Can you make yourself do it anyway? 2. Something you know you shouldn’t do… but really WANT to? Can you stop yourself? Getting out of bed when the alarm hits Hitting the gym when you’d rather scroll Studying or grinding when Netflix calls Choosing the hard right over the easy wrong This is the invisible bridge between where you are… and who you want to become Put your choices ahead of your feelings Because if you only do what you feel like doing, you’ll never reach your goals This one mindset shift changes everything for champions — and it can change everything for YOU too.

They used to find the fastest man in the NFL by actually racing. No debates or hypotheticals. And even with no force plates, no resisted devices, etc. they had legit speed. Bring this back!!

I’m a Marine Corp veteran, trained by LEOs when I served in US embassies on how to handle unruly individuals or protestors. 1) If you are the guys with guns, you are the ones responsible for the situation. Doubly so if you outnumber the person you’re engaging. 2) You do not need to use force except to control the situation in order to deescalate it. Minimal force required. 3) You are NOT here to look for excuses to use more force. Even if the person gives you an excuse which “justifies” using force, that doesn’t mean using force is de facto the right move. 4) “Let the other person retreat” often resolves the situation just fine! Don’t surround people, back them up against a wall, etc. Your job is to control the situation. “I put myself stupidly in danger” is not an excuse to escalate “because I’m in danger.” 5) People will feed off of your energy. If you come rolling up like a fascist thug ready to break skulls, people will meet you at that level. If you show up calm, professional, and having a friendly chat, often that brings the temperature down. Everything I see from ICE agents is they are relishing violence and exercising power, needlessly escalating situations, looking for opportunities to shoot their weapons and beat the shit out of people.

"I'm Big Joe. 58. Long-haul trucker. Been driving 18-wheelers for 34 years. Sleep in my cab. Eat at truck stops. Talk on CB radio to stay awake. Lonely job. But someone's gotta move America's stuff. Two years ago, I'm driving through Nebraska. 2 a.m. See a car pulled over. Hazards on. Woman standing outside. Looking scared. I pulled over. She backed away when she saw me. I'm 6'4", 280 pounds, covered in tattoos. I get it. "Ma'am, I'm not stopping to hurt you. I'm stopping to help. What's wrong?" Her car died. Phone dead. She'd been there three hours. Nobody stopped. "Where you headed?" "Hospital. Omaha. My daughter's in emergency surgery. I have to get there." No hesitation. "Get in. I'll take you." "In your truck?" "Safest vehicle on this highway." She hesitated. Then got in. Drove her 60 miles out of my way. Got her there in time. She hugged me hard. "Nobody stops anymore," she cried. "Thank you for seeing me." Got back on the road. Couldn't stop thinking about it. Got on the CB. Told other truckers. "We see everything out here. We should do something." Started a code. "Code Angel" we call it. When truckers see someone broken down, stranded, in trouble, we stop. We help. Word spread. Truckers across the country joined. Last year, we helped 1,200 people. Dead batteries. Out of gas. Medical emergencies. Domestic violence victims escaping. Runaways needing safe transport to shelters. We've got a network now. Truckers, CB radio, truck stops. Someone needs help? We mobilize. Saved six lives last year. People broken down in dangerous spots. Diabetics in crisis. A kidnapping victim we spotted and reported. But here's my favorite story. Last month, I'm at a truck stop. Young kid approaches me. Maybe 19. Scared. "Are you Big Joe?" "Yeah." "You know how to ride in a truck?" His eyes filled. "You'd help me?" "That's what we do." I didn't go to San Francisco. But I got him to a trucker who was. She took him the rest of the way. He made it. Safe. Now there's 4,000 truckers in Code Angel. We've got an app. Dispatchers. Resources. News called us "Guardian Angels of the Highway." But we're just truckers. Doing what's right. That woman in Nebraska? Her daughter survived surgery. She sends me Christmas cards every year. The kid I helped? He's in college now. Studying social work. Says he wants to help invisible people like truckers helped him. I'm Big Joe. I drive a truck. Sleep in parking lots. Smell like diesel. But I learned something. The loneliest roads are where people need help most. And the scariest-looking people are sometimes the ones who stop. So tomorrow, if you break down, if you're stranded, if you're running from something bad, Look for the trucks. We're watching. We're listening. We might look rough. But we'll get you home. Because the highway doesn't have to be lonely. Not when 4,000 truckers refuse to drive past people in trouble." . Let this story reach more hearts.... . Ai image is for demonstration purpose only. . BREAKING: EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAR THIS. Senator Mark Kelly just completely torched Donald Trump: "When Donald Trump was driving the Taj Mahal casino into bankruptcy, I was getting shot at over Iraq and Kuwait. In 2001, after Donald Trump said that the collapse of the Twin Towers now meant he now owned the tallest skyscraper in Manhattan, I was carrying flags honoring 911 victims into space on a rocket ship. In 2003, when Donald Trump was writing birthday greetings to the monster, Jeffrey Epstein, I was the first on the scene to recover the bodies of my fellow astronauts who died when Space Shuttle Columbia exploded during re-entry. In 2011, when Trump was hosting a reality show, and peddling conspiracy theories against President Barack Obama, I was sitting next to my wife’s hospital bed as she recovered from a gunshot wound to the head."

Holiness must blossom precisely where decisions are made that affect the lives of thousands of families. The world needs entrepreneurs and leaders who, out of love for God and neighbor, work for an economy that serves the common good. It is possible to be both an entrepreneur and a saint—economic efficiency and fidelity to the Gospel are not mutually exclusive—and charity can penetrate even industrial and financial structures.
