My secret #illyanatober project is complete. I present to you "50 Magik." From Classic to Darkchylde, Randoms, plainclothes, and Black, here she is in her many (certainly not all) incarnations.

I drew @SadieSink as Jean last year when rumors of her casting began. Simply translated my sketch into a #figurine in Google. I'd buy one!

“Don’t write prose for me.”
That was my first rule when I began working with LLMs in my writing.
It maintains authorship and agency and protects the discipline and my love of the craft.
AI may feel like a shortcut. Don’t take it.
Make it a gymnasium.

“The original #HarryPotter movies were perfect, why remake them?”
Yeah! They did the same thing with Hamlet. The original actors in nailed it in 1600. Why do remake it over and over?
Why would we want to see other artists’ interpretations? It’s nonsense! Nonsense, I say!
#ValeriaRichards is becoming more Illyana than #Illyana… A grounded, complex, character charting her own path.

#FantasticFour
Oh my goodness, I forgot how much I loved #Batgirls. That and @Bruno_Redondo_F’s Nightwing were what got me back into comics full time.

#Shadowcat!
1) I found a good reference model
2) Drew #KittyPryde in her Excalibur outfit
3) Rendered a figurine version of the drawing
4) Placed the figurine in a computer lab
Voila!

#PowerPack!
The character models are rendered from June Brigman's OHOTMU drawings. Photo-realized Friday in Central Park came out great!
Bonus: A version of Friday the size of a cargo plane. Perhaps too large, but an epic photo.

"The Yellow Years"
A Xavier campus full of #Magik!
All figurines rendered from my sketches of #IllyanaRasputin from over the years.
Which is your favorite?
#NewMutants in action! This multi-step creative process goes from my original sketch to figurine rendering in #NanoBanana to compositing in Photoshop to animating in #Grok.

#NewMutants! Ingredients: one of my old sketches, several meticulous prompts, some Photoshop magic, and a new sketch for the mansion background. I'm using #AI as a 3D renderer and asset generator.

Classic Recreation #7: My introduction to #Magik
My first issue of Uncanny #XMen was #225. Colossus's little sister bounces in like a tornado for a couple of panels to teleport him, and I could't wait to learn more about her.

Classic Recreation #6: Giant Size X-Men (1975)
As we leave the 50-year anniversary of this landmark title, I can't help but to be thankful for the journey with every creator who's contributed to the X-Men.

Classic Recreation #5: Uncanny #XMen #225
My first issue of X-Men, always it's near and dear to me.
Translating the background was challenging. Silvestri's is blank maroon with an orange explosion, so I embraced it and gave them ground to stand on.
@steppingdisks @ClaremontRun
And @Rogue. These all look similar, but there was a texture to her body suit that I liked in the last one, and the shade of green fit. I liked the boots better on one and the gloves on another. Ultimately let it ride.
