I teach Philippine history. I write and research about Philippine history. And since last night, I've been feeling that my existence is pointless. Pointless in a society where history repeats like a broken record and facts are a tier below jokes.

Center for Environmental Concerns, an environmental research institution, noted that the Pax Silica project will require not only 5 million gallons of water for cooling and other operations, but also displace an estimated 20,000 Aeta indigenous peoples.

AETAS, FARMERS STAND VS PAX SILICA
Leaders of the Sapang Kawayan Aeta community and farmers hold a press conference on Thursday to voice their opposition against the controversial Pax Silica hub project, which is proposed to be constructed in New Clark City, Tarlac.
According to the leaders, they have documents which show their claim over the ancestral lands, which will also be part of a signature campaign opposing the initiative.

AI HUB IN THE WORKS
The Philippines and the United States are moving closer to developing the proposed 4,000-acre AI hub in Tarlac, with the BCDA saying a framework agreement for the project could be signed as early as November.
Supporters say the project could strengthen AI and advanced manufacturing, attract investments and create quality jobs. Critics, meanwhile, have raised concerns about its potential environmental impact, land use, energy and water demand and the broader geopolitical implications of the Philippines' participation in the US-led initiative.

“The Philippines should pursue genuine industrialization and technological development based on national needs, not on the geopolitical objectives of a foreign power. Our mineral resources, energy systems, and technological future must serve the Filipino people rather than the strategic interests of US monopoly corporations and military planners.”

can foreigners (specifically americans) stop commenting on the academic norms within the Philippines, when the matter of fact is any average Filipino college graduate can run circles around you when it comes to academic writing?
