I have experienced toxic environments in academia but also critical support that allowed me to stay. I try to empower my female students to believe that they can have a voice in the room…no matter how senior, intimidating or arrogant the other voices in the room are 💪
Toxic workplaces are the main reason women leave academic jobs nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

I feel so sad because when they have better ways to protect people (mandatory masks/ negative test results), they have chosen this discriminatory policy to deprive people with medical exemptions of having the equal opportunity of in-person participation and networking
I'd like to expose #SfN2022 's discriminatory policy. They insist on full V with no exception (even for medical exempts as reasonable accommodations). Look at the attorney's letter filled with scientifically unreasonable statements.

For the past 15 months, I’ve been struggling to answer the simple question "how are you". I don’t want to bother others' feelings but I have been in debilitating pain after my only shot. I was once desperate, thinking my life was over but now I am and will stay mentally strong

I feel a great responsibility to share our research with the field and the public to promote science and awareness of adolescent cannabis use. Our study addresses the reduced perception of its harmfulness due to new legalization policies in the United States.
Our article on the effects of THC on the adolescent brain in mice is published online @npp_journal. A big thank you to the reviewers who helped make the article better along the way. @YanningZuo @YangLabUCLA
