IMAM BUKHARI, compiler of Sahih al-Bukhari, is traditionally reported to have examined around 600,000 Hadith reports before selecting only a small fraction for inclusion in his collection. Once repetitions are removed, the collection contains roughly 2,600 unique narrations. Think for a moment about what that means. Imagine those 600,000 narrations as individual grains of cooked basmati rice. Together they would amount to roughly 45 kilograms of cooked rice enough to feed perhaps 200–250 people at a large gathering. Now imagine that, after painstaking examination, only about 2,600 grains are declared fit to eat perhaps the equivalent of a dozen or so spoonfuls. Then imagine placing the entire 45 kilograms before your guests and telling them: “It’s all poison except 13 spoonfuls” How many people would dare? Even after this enormous exercise in filtration and “quality control,” he was left with predominantly vulgar, cruel, irrational, ethically questionable or simply difficult to reconcile with ordinary human reason. Imagine how contaminated would be his sample pool of. Collection!! Yet Sahih al-Bukhari is commonly regarded in Sunni Islam as the most authoritative religious book after the Quran! RIP ISLAM.
