In a first, pellet guns, shock-batons used against protestors in Delhi. Part of RAF’s gear for crowd control measures, pellets were last used during 2024 farmers protest in Haryana, Manipur (2023) and Kashmir (2016). Pellets can potentially blind the target.

A National Award jury cannot be built on a handful of films and social media visibility. A few screen appearances do not automatically translate into the experience, artistic depth, or judgment required to evaluate the best of Indian cinema.
Serving on a jury is a privilege. But judging the nation's finest films is a responsibility.
A political party cannot be born out of Instagram reels, hashtags and online hype. A few million followers do not automatically translate into the wisdom, experience or vision required to run a country.
The Cockroach Janta Party may have taken its protest from Instagram to Jantar Mantar, but India is not a social media experiment. We cannot hand over the future of this country to people who believe virality is a substitute for governance.
Protests are a right. But governing a nation is a responsibility.

VIDEO | Madhya Pradesh police removed protesters and ended the 'satyagraha' that was launched against the Ken-Betwa Link Project and other irrigation schemes.
The protest, mainly by tribal women, was being held on the banks of the Barana river near Kupi village in Chhatarpur district. Protesters launched 'jal satyagraha', 'chita (funeral pyre) satyagraha' and, since the eighth day of the agitation, a symbolic 'faansi satyagraha'.
