I’ve been noticing that Jews seem way less pessimistic about AI than Gentiles (with one notable exception), and I think I know why that might be. 1: We’ve learned the hard way that natural human intelligence does not in any way correlate with being a good and moral person. Over and over we’ve seen otherwise intelligent people turn into frothing unhinged zombie fanatics, to the point where there is simply no reason for us to think AI is any more dangerous than people normally are. 2: AI serves as a force multiplier for small, cohesive teams. Jews happen to be very good at making such teams, indeed, much of our survival is a product of being able to do precisely that. As a small people vastly outnumbered by vicious enemies, we’re always interested in developing force multipliers and making sure they’re either in our hands or the hands of people we trust. Like the Israeli Air Force and nuclear arsenal, or the American Manhattan project or stealth fighter program. The notable presence of Jewish scientists in the latter two is not a coincidence. 3: Israel is a global leader in AI development, and is thus in a good position to reap the benefits of such technologies. Project Lavender was perhaps the first true weaponization of artificial intelligence, used to help identify and target Hamas and PIJ fighters. There’s a reason why practically their entire trained prewar force is dead and had to be replaced with untrained teenagers. And Israel is only going to become more central to AI development. As we’ve seen over the last year, data centers are a very popular target for air attacks. Russia can’t protect their data centers from air attack. Saudi Arabia can’t protect their data centers from air attack. Want to guess who can, and has? As far as Jews are concerned, AI is a very promising technological force multiplier. As the number of our enemies have greatly expanded in the past few years, so too has the need for a multiplier. The enemy thinks his victory to be guaranteed by his sheer numbers. But every day, his numbers matter less and less.
