"The goal is not simply to make homelessness less difficult for children, but to end it altogether.” We're proud to begin addressing the connected issues faced by students who are homeless and those involved in the foster care and criminal legal systems. bit.ly/47hPY39

Criminalizing homelessness is not the answer. Instead, we need to focus on addressing the root causes of #housinginstability, taking a prevention-first approach that focuses on lifting up individuals, strengthening communities, and building more equitable systems.
📢 Criminalizing homelessness doesn't just fail to solve the problem. It actually makes it worse, and it costs taxpayers $31,065 a year to criminalize just one person experiencing homelessness. The cost of providing supportive housing? $10,051 per year.
