Why is there a change in mindset when Players make mistakes compared to Referees. Does anyone have the answer? 😅

Really looking forward to speaking on the @YESREF podcast tomorrow morning. It will be their first time covering Gaelic games. How would you describe Gaelic football (or hurling / Camogie) to someone who has never seen it before!!!

🗣️ "Building that rapport and those relationships before the game, during the game and after the game".

Clearly a sportball interview, but something to consider:
There’s a fine line between players wanting to understand a decision and wanting to engage and argue with it.
The one-word answer should often be obvious, and a more elaborate answer can be tough to articulate when it’s actually the umpire who really needs to move on in the moment because 20 other decisions have to immediately be made.
More off-pitch work by umpires determining *when* players actually do need clarification and how to deliver; then by players to understand the rules better already would really help in a fast-moving sport like hockey.
🗣️ "The stuff we get is maybe conduct around referees".
@HarveyNewstead shares the feedback he gets from Clubs surrounding what they would like Referees to understand more. 🧐

🗣️ "You're quite quick to jump at us when there's an issue in the game".
@HarveyNewstead highlights the importance of Referees getting positive feedback, rather than when there's a wrong decision, or an issue. 🤔

Replying to @YESREF @HarveyNewstead
been saying this for a long time now, I never understand why some managers don't get a referee in for videos to understand and explain why a decision could have been made. referees attempt to understand the frustration of players. its never seen in the opposite direction
