Well said
Watching Elon Musk this week has been a fascinating character study in the saviour complex of Western tech billionaires.
They arrive in your country selling you the future. Welcome them, and you’re a country that wants progress. Make them wait, and suddenly your people are victims who need rescuing from their own institutions by the chosen one.
It’s a pattern. When Thai rescuers didn’t use the mini-submarine Musk sent for the trapped boys, and diver Vernon Unsworth called the idea impractical, Musk attacked him as the “pedo guy.”
When Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered X to comply with its rulings, Musk called the judge a “dictator.”
The script rarely changes. Only the country does.
The colonial mindset isn’t always about wanting to rule a country. Sometimes it’s the assumption that you arrive as its saviour, and if the country doesn’t immediately recognise you as one, something must be wrong with the country.
A little inspiration from you @marina_uiux

Take a moment to thank Modi government: credit where due
Well – we all are happy to see SGX Nifty today. But the bigger message is that how Modi government handled the Trump threats. It was easy to give away under the pressure of threats like many Asian or even European countries did. But we did not relent under pressure but also managed to a six on the last ball in the last over by announcing massive GST reforms and even get S&P upgrade on the country after 18 years is not only commendable but a proud movement for every Indian. I might have read at least 10 reports from foreign brokers today & no one dare to call India a dead economy. Jefferies Chris Wood says: India represents the best long-term structural story in Asia. And many others are applauding India for the recent stance. Jai Hind.
Brutal
Key takeaways from IAF Chief speech:
1. S-400 shot down five Pakistani jets. One AWACS/ELINT was hit mid-air, another at Bholari destroyed, plus US's F-16s on the ground were hit.
2. India likely kept this information confidential to avoid denting the reputation of US-made F-16s and straining ties with US, which were not bad at that time. Such calls aren’t about ego; deciding what to reveal, what to withhold, and for how long requires careful strategic judgement. I’m sure keeping it under wraps then was the prudent choice.
3. There was absolutely no pressure from the govt to hold back as claimed by Indian opposition.
4. Timing matters, and this revelation makes it clear the govt has no intention of pampering Trump. That’s excellent.
5. The Chief expressed disappointment that despite the success in Balakot, they couldn’t convince their own people. This highlights how negative politics and opposition forces siding with the enemy can erode the morale of our armed forces.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Jai Hind.
