Consider the possibility that "Human Progress" is not defined by technological capability. It is possible that humanity is not progressing but very rapidly regressing in our current day, even though, technological progress is advancing. It is possible to build a colony on Mars, while still regressing as a species. It is possible that 2,000-2,500 years ago, humanity was "further progressed" than it is now as a species. Technological Progress and Human Progress are two separate (although sometimes intertwined) roads. Over the past however many years, technological progress is the only value for progression that we have cared about. Whether it be medical progress, scientific etc. so the entire focus and measurement is based on what technological capabilities we have. I believe it is possible that we have lost sight of progress as a species entirely and we have reached the apex and are now on the decline. By "now", I do not mean 25 years but rather several hundred years likely. This is why many things of what we consider the ancient world is simply impossible. It is not because we cannot technically conceive of it, it is because we have regressed to the point that we simply cannot do it anymore for many reasons that can be discussed. If we only value technological progress as a measurement of how well humanity is doing as a species, I believe the inevitable outcome is extinction. How this extinction is reached doesn't really matter. Whether it is a big boom or slow gradual decline of IQ to the point where we really just wither away over time via multiple causes. I think it is possible that if we brought Marcus Aurelius, Aristotle, Julius Cesar etc. into the present via a time machine, they might wonder how it is possible that after all these years, we have become unimaginably dumb while still being marveled by the smart phone.

Potentially uncomfortable truth. I believe they have approx. 19% of this archaic species’ DNA that other human races lack. Serious research should be done to understand the truth but it is not allowed because of feelings.
