A trans woman died because of the UK’s new hospital ward policy forcing them men's wards. Joelle was only 27 — a musician, coder, and daughter. This is what happens when they care more about demagoguery, backwards views of sex, non-existent risk than people's well being.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
References by Joelle's mother to an announcement by Steve Barclay, date this to October 2023 - therefore well before the current NHS policy change.
No details about the circumstances of Joelle's death have been independently verified or reported.

in case you didn't know a trans woman was denied care for cancer in the UK because they refused to put her on either sex segregated ward (mens or womans). she died because of this. 16 days without treatment and she died. this new guidance has killed and will kill trans people

still so incredibly upset about this actually
while I technically do have a document about how to start worldbuilding from scratch it is so very not complete and if I could make my own worldbuilding content I would, but I just feel like I'm not up to parr with those there :,);,)
