100% of medical students use AI to study. I ran UX interviews over the weekend with med students from across Nigeria using the Jobs to be done framework. Before testing my product, I asked them about how they studied. They ALL used AI, and each in very creative ways. I learned that the bar is high for a truly disruptive study tool. Which is what I'm building with @patandfam patandfam.com

Bought my first car on Independence Day. So today was my first ever trip to the gas station filling MY tank. It felt... strange. That I have a tank to fill is just awesome. Can't wait to complain about the rising price of gas 🤣

Tesla knows how to capture the imagination. The team's real super power is marketing. Flying cars have existed for at least a decade. But nobody cared this much until Tesla did it. Because they make you feel something the others haven't figured out, yet. Will you see this car on the streets in the next decade? Who knows? But the hype machine works every time. Roadster, Robotaxis and now a freaking flying car.
Real life, baby

AI was supposed to make us work less I've never been this tired in my life most days I have up to 10 agents running at the same time. one fixing a bug, one writing pages, one refactoring something I already forgot I asked for, 3 other I have no idea what they are doing but i suppose i ask it? and I jump from conversation to conversation all day compared to 5 years ago, I probably context switch 100x more by the end of the day my brain is fried. completely toasted. nothing left, not even for the people I love I call it the fried brain effect thought it was just me but almost every founder I talk to lately says the exact same thing we got superpowers, and somehow the pressure only went up. if you can ship 10x more, you feel like you have to ship 10x more. every single day I don't have a solution honestly I have no idea where this goes from here anyone else feeling this?

Dear Expert using AI for the first time: AI can cut your research time in half, but you cannot trust it with final checks on your work. You MUST always check the output. This is still painstaking work but it's worth the peace of mind.

In building clinical AI, one thing you deal with is making sure the clinician considers all possible differentials without overwhelming them with caveats and exceptions. Most people attach likelihood percentages to each diagnosis, with the least likely receiving the lowest percentage. The problem with that is that LLMs are not good at calibration, so an LLM showing a likelihood of 5% may not really represent a statistical likelihood of 5% for the particular patient, given all the context, including the contexts the AI does not see or account for, like environment, demography, local epidemiology, etc. Attaching context to each differential is helpful. But for a physician short on time, too much context can become another load they have to manage. One method I use is to include the diagnoses that could be fatal at the top, even if the probability of them is low. Bringing them to the physician's conscious mind could also help them think more critically about whether they could be missing something important themselves.

I don't like shame as a motivator. It's very effective sometimes but it comes at a terrible cost.

Dear Expert, You must make your own AI slop. No one's going to regulate AI in any meaningful way. You will not change anything by burying your head in the sand and complaining about all the low quality nonsense on the internet. Go and make your own. You need to take up space that would otherwise go to people with ZERO knowledge in your field and a $20 subscription to Claude

WTF is 'He'? Who is Claude talking to? Does anyone else's Cowork do this? I mean, behave like it's having a conversation with someone else and talk about you in the third person? 🤣🤣🤣 What in the schizophrenia is this?
