I want to be known as a good music journalist. I know sometimes my reviews and features get lost in the rubble but I just want people to read them and I want them to take something from them. 🖋🎸

It took me probably 500 readings to control the fear enough to make eye contact and point at people. This was tonight in Long Branch NJ

I can relate, Taylor. Sometimes it feels like all our efforts to promote our work comes across as spam, becomes noise, and gets ignored. Seems there’s little return on the investment of time, and lack of engagement can be disheartening.

I miss when social media didn’t feel like such a necessity for a writer. It’s beginning to feel like a chore, so I’m logging off for a while. I may pop in occasionally if I have good news to share, but I need to spend more time in the real world 🌷

It’s so hard to get your work noticed these days. So much energy is used to provide good writing but then it gets lost in the void. X doesn’t help this either. It’s disheartening! 🙁

New in Culture: Mark McConville reviews Citizen's Halcyon Blues, "a record of emotional triggers and lyrical trickery" with "the dirtiest riff imaginable." Link in the reply.

Fresh copies of PLAY THE DEVIL are here, the great New Jersey novel full of heartfelt prose, humor, emotionally dense characters & the philosophical depth that comes from years on the grind. Or maybe its just a love story! Check the reviews, if u dig theyre $11 from me! Hmu 🍕
