A quick little piece I wrote about #Merlin, my favorite app, and the best way to find cool migrating birds: weirdwhat.substack.com/p/bir…
This quote by @ThomasDolby in AARP Magazine about favorite springtime songs captures the same sentiment I've felt since 2016, except I can hardly listen to the song since then because it's sad. PS: fun fact @ThomasDolby: He liked your music too! #thomasdolby #prince @prince
Here's a quick little piece I wrote about the Bradford pear tree: beautiful flowers but the flowers smell awful. open.substack.com/pub/weirdw… #bradfordpear #substack
This is for everyone (as it's important especially now), and it's also a reminder to myself: Are you creating what you want, or reacting to what you don't want? Creating is being in alignment with yourself, while reacting is a place of imbalance and fear. Creating = love. #l4oa
I just published: Watch out for this text scam going viral medium.com/p/watch-out-for-t…
Ever wonder why it's called corned beef? I wrote a brief piece about this: open.substack.com/pub/weirdw…
Citigroup accidentally gives someone $81 TRILLION. That's 200x more than Musk supposedly has. Here's the Weird What? take on it: open.substack.com/pub/weirdw… #banking #oops #money #citigroup
Ever think about that 1980s song, Fish Heads? Now you will! It's my pick for Weird Song of the Week, and Bill Mumy from Lost in Space is one of the song's co-writers. open.substack.com/pub/weirds…
Questlove's SNL music documentary inspired me to write about "Beef Bologna," or the song that turned SNL into a mosh pit. It's part of punk rock history, and it involves John Belushi: open.substack.com/pub/weirds… #johnbelushi #snl #questlove
This story about Danish cookies and Lunar New Year in Hong Kong is a fun one. Who knew? I love writing this sort of piece, but this one isn't mine: atlasobscura.com/articles/kj… #lunarnewyear #hongkong @atlasobscura #cookietins
I've started creative writing prompts on substack for all writers; it's also for artists & anyone who wants to break through creative blocks. It's free (at least for a great while). They're unique & creative: creativeprompts.substack.com… #writingprompts #creativity #writersblock
This is the best post on the interwebs today: rebeccamakkai.substack.com/p… #humor #toilets #substack. Thank you Rebecca Makkai for the laughs!
I just wrote a quick piece on how astronauts brush their teeth in space. How do you brush your teeth in space? open.substack.com/pub/weirdw… @substack #substack #outerspace
It's not yet 8 p.m. and I'm hearing lots of premature firecraculation. #happynewyear #happynewyear2025
Here's a quick piece I wrote on the history of Shiny Brite ornaments: How WWII helped create a Christmas ornament empire open.substack.com/pub/weirdw… #christmas #shinybrite #vintage
I had a blast writing this piece last year on the special ways astronauts can have holiday foods and treats in space, particularly aboard the International Space Station. Crumbs are a huge no-no, so holiday cookies have to be virtually crumb-free! eater.com/24011185/how-nasa-… @Eater
