Bob, sorry your access to the physical world got smaller but you reach a huge community here. I hope you're living life on your terms and finding joy.
They would be larger than a park underneath, right? It would be larger than some towns / small cities. My concern there would be the sheer breadth of impact on ground water, vegetation root systems, etc. that would go unseen / unchecked.
So, I think there are some chess players realizing they made some wrong moves and are working to heal some of that. Titles keep the lines tight until Little George has a child to pivot the succession fully.
By then Harry's children will be relieved to take off the final ties.
They might be even bigger style icons, heard on more controversial issues, reveal even more inside secrets no press secretary could hush, and come and go with more entourage and flair than now!
They might have made more money and taken more business deals and have no controls.
... because the ties that bind go both ways? They have been so free and successful with the title but the freedom allowed by not being a working royal that imagine if the few rules that remain (since they are still in the line to the throne) were fully removed.

OK. I write fiction, too, so let me post a theory:
People have wondered why they weren't stripped of all the titles while calling them grifters and any other terrible names they can think of, right?
What if the reason they still have the titles and royal connections is...

You know what. You're right and I needed to dig deeper. However the government provides those services for situations where a celebrity will gather such a crowd that firearms are needed and private security cannot carry. So taxpayers would pay for that. I stand corrected.
The way I would get hundreds back per paycheck... then I could put that into an account for care that is handled like Costco for medical services. Some rounds will always be free or $1.50 but others will always be competitive.
What is the benefit of faith?

I want to answer what you're actually asking.
Private security has limitations on what it can do to protect and prevent harm in the UK that gov security does not. (I'm doing bare research here) This is why celebrities get government security as well which they pay the Gov for. Wasn't that what they wanted as well?
They offered to pay for themselves for the service, but we're told no. So... they aren't making the taxpayers do anything.
They can end it when every dollar they took since I was 14 is repaid with interest. Same for everyone else still living who paid in and hasn't touched it.. it's my investment or it's theft, your call.
