Our founder @sherdil_wc tells @thenews_intl that Pakistan could serve as a nursery for robot training, with the country’s physical, gritty and tactile environment offering a variety of situations in which robots can learn.
If an advanced alien civilisation arrived on Earth searching for the ingredients needed to build artificial general intelligence, it might look to Pakistan for one of the most valuable commodities in the emerging AI economy: data Read more: thenews.pk/magazine/money-ma… #TheNews

Pakistan is building a place in the global robotics supply chain. World Context brought its robotics data to @UCBerkeley, where teams built and tested projects using real-world factory data. As U.S companies invest in robotics, Pakistan has an opportunity to become a key partner in the data that helps train these robots. Read more: geo.tv/latest/683943-pakista…

Our first hackathon at @UCBerkeley brought together 13 teams of robotics and computer vision engineers. Teams worked with human motion datasets from World Context to build and test physical Al systems. Sortbot, a project focused on building robots capable of sorting different types of objects, won the hardware track. They built generalised robots to sort anything. Reconstructors, which focused on reconstructing World Context data in the physical world, won the software track. The voice-enabled robotics track was won by the Nut Feeding Bot, a robot designed to feed nuts. KinematIQ won the visualisation track with a project focused on generating new datasets from existing data points for robot training. MetaHuman won the human data transfer onto hardware track with a project that used Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and a Neural Band to remotely teleoperate an SO101 robot, exploring low-cost and scalable data collection. The event awarded a total of $4,500 (Rs1.25 million) in cash prizes. "The talent on display at Berkeley showed how advanced the industry is in the U.S., and that there are tremendous opportunities to learn from and partner with U.S. institutions and companies," Founder and Chief Executive Officer @sherdil_wc said. "We can bring these learnings back to Pakistan to improve the state of technology there as well." A special thank you to our sponsors @GoogleGemini, @calblockchain, @ElevenLabs, @TheHackathonCo, @Lovable, and @UCBStartup for helping make this possible. Pakistani AI and robotics startup World Context on Sunday hosted its second Narration Sprint in Lahore at Kite Coffee in Cantt. From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., participants narrated footage of factory workers performing different tasks. The narration adds context to the recorded actions by identifying what a worker is doing, how the task is being performed and what is happening around them. This turns raw footage of human activity into structured data that can be used to train robots in the U.S. The data is used to train vision-language-action (VLA) and vision-language models (VLMs). This was the third event hosted by World Context this year, following a robotics hackathon at @UCBerkeley in August and a Narration Sprint in September. World Context collects egocentric data in Pakistan and exports it to American robotics and AI companies as part of its effort to grow technology exports between Pakistan and the U.S. #AGI #PhysicalAI #Robotics

We’re back! World Context is hosting its second Narration Sprint in Lahore this Sunday, October 4, at Kite Coffee in Cantt, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Participants will watch videos of factory workers doing different tasks and narrate what they see. The recordings will be used as data to teach robots how people work and move. Anyone who can speak fluent English may apply. World Context collects factory footage using cameras and sensors and provides the data to robotics companies in the U.S. Prizes include Rs. 50,000 in cash, merchandise, coffee, certificates, and opportunities to work with World Context. Come spend the day narrating footage and helping us train robots! Register here: forms.gle/5iR8iTgfr5EJJfU36 More details: worldcontext.org #Physicalai #Robotics #MachineLearning

Pakistani robotics startup World Context on Sunday hosted its first Narration Sprint in Lahore, where participants narrated footage collected from Pakistani factories to help create data for training robots to perform human tasks. The event was held at DOT Coffee from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants worked with first-person footage recorded during World Context’s factory data-collection operations, describing workers’ actions and surroundings through audio narration. The resulting data is intended for training vision-language-action (VLA) and vision-language models (VLMs). Human narration adds context to recorded actions by identifying what a worker is doing, how the task is being performed and what is happening around them. This helps turn raw footage of human activity into structured data that can be used to train robots to understand and perform similar tasks. The Narration Sprint was World Context’s second major event within a month, following its robotics hackathon at the University of California, Berkeley. World Context collects footage of factory workers performing tasks across different sectors and sells the data to U.S. robotics and AI companies. The company aims to expand technology exports between Pakistan and the United States. #PhysicalAI #Robotics #MachineLearning

We are hosting our first-ever Narration Sprint in Lahore on Sunday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dot Coffee in DHA Phase IV. Participants will narrate videos of workers performing different tasks and help build the data used to teach robots how to move. World Context deploys cameras and sensors to record the movements of factory workers and turn that footage into datasets used to train robots in the U.S. We will give out cash prizes, merchandise and coffee. Come join us for a day of narrating data and training robots. Confirm your participation by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Narration Sprint.” More details: worldcontext.org #PhysicalAI #Robotics #MachineLearning
