I made a dumb meme. The research continues. Slowly. Some day. Surely. xitter.cf/James_Librarian/status…

They released an Annotated American Gods and that didn't stop me. Ennui stopped me.

Researching the possible medical benefits of drinking piss today so that's where my life is at this point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Happy twentieth anniversary to American Gods. Amazing to think I haven't released an episode in that long. (Just finished up notes on page 357 so we're getting there!)
My favorite thing to do is to research something for an hour or more and then remember I have the Annotated Edition and check and sure enough, there it is. Ah well. I'd rather get there on my own anyhow.
I've Spelled 'Cabaret' Incorrectly Six Times In This Google Doc And I'm About To Make It Seven: The James Wilcox Story.
This isn't a promise or anything, but I think I may start recording and releasing episodes again despite not being done with research\notes for the rest of the book.

I was getting a pretty good high from the research, but now that isn't enough. I'm paying for hosting, I may as well use it. But new episodes may appear for a couple of weeks and then stop for a bit as I get the ship righted.
Oh no. Got a shoutout today from @timelinescav so now I've GOTTA finish up everything. But go listen to Timeline Scavengers in the meantime. They'll have plenty to talk about over there.

I feel like I spend more time researching the pages that DON'T have obvious allusions or deities than the ones that do. Is that line an obtuse reference to Timothy Leary? Probably not... but why not spend a few minutes reading High Priest anyway?
Thank fuck I'm done researching Johnny Appleseed. If this fucker shows up later in the novel and I've forgotten about it, I'm going to burn this entire place to the ground.

200 pages left to research. That's the hard part. The recording and editing? That's easy. (ha)
I skipped ahead to double-check a tiny detail and got sad.
Just one or two more pages and I can be free of John Fucking Chapman forever. Thank you, dear Buffalo Headed God of America.
It's absurd how one can spend such minutes on one paragraph because even facts aren't facts.

Anyhow, I'm on page 308 of 500-some in the research department. I also re-recorded my intro and outro to save myself time every episode. And the sound in my pantry is actually pretty tight. Except when I put the book down on a bag of chips.
