🚨NEW: Worcestershire's Green-led coalition is set to close a council service that manages the money of 144 vulnerable adults who can't manage it themselves.
Cabinet decides tomorrow (Thu 22 Oct). 🧵
Greens, Lib Dems and Independents, plus one suspended Conservative, took County Hall from Reform in May, a year after the election. Is pulling services away from the county's most vulnerable people the kind of thing we can look forward to?

Calling all entrepreneurial pensioners who live near a supermarket in Worcestershire...
⚠️ An 82 year old Grandma from Leeds has declared WAR on corporate greed by setting up a stall outside her local Morrisons selling her collection of second hand carrier bags, after being enraged at the supermarket charging an extortionate 60p per bag! 😲
"I've been hoarding these bloody things for 30 years!" she explained. "I've got hundreds under the kitchen sink, cupboards full of them and thousands piled up in the garden shed!"
The pensioner pocketed a whopping £13.40 on her first day and insists she'll be back tomorrow, claiming she's got enough bags at home to keep her in business until 2029.
There's a council by-election in Worcestershire on Thursday. Had you heard? Hartlebury, in Wychavon, votes on 22 October for a new district councillor. Three candidates: Susan Evans (Labour), Tony Miller (Conservative) and Jake Richardson (Reform UK). 🧵
The Conservatives won comfortably last time, with 444 votes, or 57.5%. Reform did not stand. Turnout was 31%.
Droitwich and Evesham MP Nigel Huddleston has been campaigning for Mr Miller, and says he got a "really good reception on the doorsteps".
🚨NEW: Councillors are being asked to approve a huge lithium battery site near Feckenham before anyone has seen the detailed plans for what happens if it catches fire. 🧵
Land with planning permission is usually worth far more than farmland, and a nine-year window gives whoever holds it much longer to build or to sell it on. The committee decides on Thursday at 7pm.
