You must slow down to speed up.
Today I spent 45 minutes in total silence with the Lord and His creation.
While praying I glanced up and had this view.
Under the shade of this mighty oak tree I heard the wind rustling through the leaves. I heard the birds singing. I heard the noises of critters as they bounded through the woods.
I felt a great calm wash over me and a renewing surge well up from within me.
I was reminded of how blessed I am to have been given another day of life. In the stillness my soul was refreshed. In the silence I received clarity.
I was filled with gratitude. Whatever worries or concerns I had carried into this morning washed away.
Too often we are on the go, pressed for time, and caught up in busy-ness.
I urge you to disconnect, be still and know that He is God.
I think most Protestant churches are totally out of alignment with Communion. They do it hardly ever. They observe no reverential or consistent ritual, but instead it becomes an opportunity for the pastor to bloviate further while we stand impatiently waiting for the cue. Then when finally allowed to partake in the only ritual I know of which Jesus actually sanctioned, we are no longer sharing a meal with fellow believers and our God, but instead standing isolated (small children in a separate room) and eating and drinking fake wafers and some sort of grape-flavored high fructose corn syrup out of little plastic cups that are rigged to explode, as likely as not, and stain our business casual attire.
I am looking for a spiritual life that invades the physical plane with real, tangible faith.
Which do you prefer?

I think my warning from 2024 is proving true.

I am done discussing doctrine with Calvanists. Calvanism is a blight that makes its adherents forget that he sovereignly decreed to create a universe where not everything is decreed. AKA: a universe where free will and voluntary true mercy can actually exist and are NOT a mere illusion. He paid a terrible price just to create said universe, and Calvanism seeks to take that away. Giving us exhaustive determinism but... with sin!
By so doing, Calvanism turns God into a cosmic fiend. It is a demonic and unbiblical theology that pollutes and distorts the reputation of Christ in this world. It hamstrings evangelism and insulates the those in its clutches from taking any Godly action. I do not think it accurate or wise to call those deep into this deception "brothers." More like "captives."
These doctrines are utterly Abhorrent! May those captured by them find deliverance.
I know this is hypothetical, but look at Mark 2:1-12. One might ask, had they remained at the back of the crowd muttering, "boy, I sure think that Jesus guy could heal this man!" But had not brought him to Jesus, would the paralytic have been healed? I think not. Work brought him there, faith was the reason they did it, but Jesus alone did the healing... and forgiving. I subscribe neither to bare assent, nor to acts of faith as a mere lab-proof
We do not earn salvation, but separating faith from acting in reality, seems arbitrary and - not to be too harsh but - can become almost gnostic. In this case Jesus looked upon the paralytic, his friends, the rope, AND the hole in the roof and recognized it as "faith." Not, "filthy rags."

I know what death to life is in Jesus Christ.
10 years Walking with the lover of my soul. Thank you Jesus for having mercy on a broken, lying, fornicating addict sitting on the floor of my bedroom with tears and no plan of escape but only a whisper of the name I heard all though my childhood.. *Jesus*
Demons tormenting me day and night, no sleep and no rest.
You made the way when I called your name “please save me, please rescue me JESUS, I can’t do this YOU have to!”
I’ve never been the woman who died that day again. You gave me new life in an instant.
I love you Jesus.

@realJennaEllis , I agree that the conversation with Dinesh started as you described it. There is no conspiracy. But I believe there is an organic shift happening that this conversation highlights.
Worldwide there is a trend toward more orthodox or "traditional" understandings of the Bible. I cannot speak for everyone, but for me it came from reading the Bible...without overlaying preconceived doctrines onto what it actually says.
The organic shift is likely triggered by multiple factors in my opinion (keeping in mind the Nationalist Populist movement requires action, agency, and a sense that actions matter):
1) Isolation: people feel isolated by technology, mega churches, and latte serving institutions that don't demand any rigorous spiritual discipline or mutual accountability.
2) Men especially (but women too) are looking for purpose. As such, the message of "the only thing that matters is what you think, not what you do" is no longer resonating. A more robust faith - accompanied by faith-infused action is desired.
3) Dispensationalism, with its focus on Israel is questioned and falling out of favor - likely triggered by current events. People like me are trying to balance a love for the Jewish people with questions about supporting the Israeli (globalist secular) government.
4) Men (and many women) who desire action and purpose are ready to step up provided they believe their actions actually shape events, and are tired of being told their actions don't matter, "everything is predetermined." Or, "just wait, Jesus will scoop us out of here before anything hard happens."
5) Modernity is empty. People want something ancient. Reformed evangelicalism has become modern.
6) Unity. Chaos and divisions result from lack of authority. People are seeking unity and authority. Part of that unity comes from embracing a God of love, not one who picks favorites. But love includes tough love and OSAS as a free ticket is repulsive to a definition of God who is a loving parent who requires growth, not stagnation.
7) Dwindling church attendence is highlighting the need for something more, thus making the reformed doctrines prevelent in the American church worthwhile to at least question.
In short, this is not fueled by weak people looking for anything their itching ears want to hear, but empty people looking for Truth and a challenge. In walks you and Dinesh. Openly questioning Calvinism, and thousands of us saying, "its about time." In my view Calvanism has been the cause of much stagnation in the church and pride, whether intentional or not. It is repulsive to potential converts that they may be "goats" unworthy to be saved and hamstrings lived out faith, making the process of santification secondary and unecessary (whether intentionally or not). Both of these things need to change if we want to see any real movement toward Revival in this world. We need more people to believe in Jesus, and more people engaged, drawing close to him, not apathetic.

Under consistent 5-point Calvinism, it is entirely possible that Christ did not die for your spouse or children or parents, that God passed them over for election, and that He will never grant them the irresistible regeneration Calvinism says is indispensable to faith. They will remain unable to believe and then be condemned for not believing.
I personally know of a Calvinist husband who regards his own wife and children as non-elect.
Strictly speaking, even Calvinists would say he cannot know that while they are living. Calvinism treats election as God’s hidden decree, and they could theoretically convert later. But the underlying possibility he has accepted is entirely consistent with the system: God may never have intended to save his family or provided an atonement for them at all.
The inverse is also true. If we cannot know we are elect while we are living, how can we possibly be assured of salvation even if we express and experience regeneration?
That is Calvinism removed from the debate stage and seated at the family dinner table.
If you embrace the doctrine, then own its conclusions too. Don’t retreat into euphemisms like “passed over” or accuse critics of caricature when they describe what the system actually practically entails.
I have wrestled with one unbearable contradiction: Protestant (especially Reformed) teaching says “This is life or death — heaven or hell!” Yet it treats ANY real action, obedience, or fruit with deep suspicion. At the heart of it (whether admitted or not) is the idea that only what you believe in your head matters. Put another way, nothing REAL can be important. And community is barely on the radar. If suffering together in the discipline of real hardship bonds us, we have never been more fragmented in our comfort. That’s a church with a form of godliness but denying its power. I cannot live in that dissonance anymore. #Orthodoxy #FaithAndWorks

“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!" - Luke 24: 5-6
Today might just be another holiday to you.
Perhaps you do not believe in Jesus.
Maybe you stand in opposition to Him.
But...
Here is the incredible thing:
He still died and rose for you because He loved you and me.
Jesus paid our debt on the cross so that we might receive the free gift of salvation and He rose again so that we might be a new creation.
"if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." - Romans 10: 9-10
Resurrection Sunday (Easter) is not just a holiday.
It is the most important day in history.
My thoughts this morning on the mistakes the church has made in its teaching/training toward men.
Fake “Christian” selflessness (the version most churches accidentally teach men) looks like nice-guy syndrome: Never asserting desire (because that’s “selfish”)
Always asking permission for every touch
Putting her comfort above truth
Smiling while dying inside, so nobody has to feel uncomfortable
Treating leadership like a dirty word
That’s not Christ.
That’s a doormat with a cross necklace.
Real Christ-like love is the most ferocious, unapologetic force in the universe:
He flipped tables when truth was at stake
He told people exactly what they needed to hear, even when it hurt
He laid down His life, but never His authority
He said “Follow me” and expected obedience
He washed feet from the position of the one who owned the room
The imitation version sacrifices the man to “save” the marriage. That is not actually love!
Loving means leading -- unapologetically, fearlessly, for your wife's own good! Just like Christ leads and loves the church.
The real version of love sacrifices the ego so the man can actually lead, protect, truly love and liberate his wife. In return she gets a powerful, respectable, capable and truly strong man. And he gets a softer, more submissive and respecting wife. When he sees these traits in her, she suddenly becomes the most attractive woman on the face of the earth regardless of her age or fitness level! That is why the Bible says wives submit yourselve to your husbands. And not to focus on outward appearance. 1 Peter 3:3-6 "but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord"
