Did you know...
Legislated gender quotas have a significant positive impact on women’s representation in local government, particularly in developing regions, and can disrupt the cycle of male-dominated political leadership.

Every time I post about a U.S. business that treats it workers well (free health care, several weeks paid vacation, paid parental leave, etc), people from literally every other advanced country reply "wait that's the bare minimum required by law here."

Weeks of paid family leave by country:
UK: 39
Ireland: 26
Finland: 23.5
Australia: 18
Denmark: 18
France: 16
Switzerland: 14
USA: Zero
This is an absolute travesty.

Democrats have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in American families, create universal child care, fight back against the climate crisis, and make billionaires and giant corporations pay a fair share. We can’t miss it.

In Mitch McConnell’s world, if you are a multi-billionaire campaign contributor it's okay to receive a $1.4 billion tax break. That’s how the system works. But if you are a carpenter who makes $75,000 a year, a direct payment is “socialism for the rich.” Give me a break.
