I don’t think Europeans fully appreciate what is happening to the European Union right now. The EU is under an extraordinary, multi-front assault, both from outside and from within. And I struggle to think of another period in its history when so many powerful actors had an interest in weakening it simultaneously. Russia has spent years waging hybrid warfare against Europe. Weaponised migration, sabotage, cyberattacks, coordinated disinformation campaigns, bot networks and political interference. The objective is clear: undermine trust in democratic institutions, deepen social divisions and weaken European unity. China has different motivations, primarily economic and geopolitical. A fragmented Europe is easier to pressure, easier to negotiate with individually and less capable of defending its economic interests. And then there is the United States. Perhaps the most disturbing development of all. Under Trump and MAGA, a country that helped rebuild the old continent and then spent decades supporting European integration now has an administration openly hostile to much of what the EU represents. Its own National Security Strategy even calls for cultivating resistance to Europe’s current political direction. Think about that for a moment. Meanwhile, within Europe, parts of the far right and far left amplify these divisions, whether through ideological alignment, political opportunism or outright sympathy for authoritarian regimes. This doesn’t mean Russia, China and MAGA are all following some jointly coordinated master plan. They don’t have to. Their interests increasingly overlap, and Europe’s internal divisions make their work considerably easier. What makes this particularly alarming is what is actually at stake. For all its flaws, the EU remains one of the world’s most consequential projects built around liberal democracy, the rule of law, individual freedoms and cooperation between nations. At a time when authoritarianism is gaining ground and even longstanding democracies are showing disturbing tendencies, that matters enormously. Europe is far from perfect. Its bureaucracy, indecision and inability to act decisively are real problems. But the answer cannot be to retreat into 27 competing nation-states, each too small to meaningfully influence a world increasingly dominated by continental powers. Quite the opposite. Europe needs deeper integration, stronger common institutions, genuine strategic autonomy and the political courage to defend its interests and values. Because fragmentation is precisely what so many external actors want. And perhaps that’s the central irony of our time: people are being deliberately manipulated into believing that the reverse is true — that national identity and sovereignty can only be protected by weakening European cooperation. In reality, a divided Europe is less sovereign, less secure and far easier for outside powers to pressure. Therefore the very thing that will make Europe stronger is the thing its adversaries are working hardest to prevent. A united Europe is a geopolitical power. A divided Europe is a collection of countries waiting to be played against one another.

President Trump is signaling that he may be prepared to sign a peace agreement with Russia and dare Ukraine to reject it. Before you scoff, consider this hypothetical scenario: 1. Trump announces a 28-point peace framework that includes hundreds of billions in reconstruction funding, territorial swaps, a demilitarized zone, arrangements for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, and American-backed security guarantees. Essentially a sweetened Witkoff–Dmitriev plan. 2. Putin goes on television, announces that the “Special Military Operation” is over, accepts the agreement, and declares an end to offensive operations. 3. Trump announces that America considers the war over and formally certifies a cessation of hostilities to Congress (setting the stage for lifting sanctions on Russia). He warns that if Ukraine rejects the agreement and continues military operations, Washington will consider Ukraine as the aggressor, not the victim, and reconsider its military, intelligence, and diplomatic support accordingly. 4. Markets surge; oil dumps. A handful of European leaders, China, and other governments welcome the breakthrough and congratulate Trump on ending the war. Trump spends the final days of the American election campaign declaring that he accomplished what everyone said was impossible. Is this the very scenario President Zelensky was concerned about on television today?
Unfortunately, it appears my prediction below is coming true. A fake peace deal between Trump and Putin that Trump believes will save his election and that Putin will break the day after that election, and all these gifts to Putin are the Kremlin milking it in exchange for agreeing. Agreement between Trump and Putin, forcing Zelensky to abide while knowing its just for Nov 3rd. Putin gets concrete, permanent gifts to aid his war machine while Ukraine gets more war and more US attacks. Meanwhile US Congress is MIA.

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

The existence of Stockholm as Sweden’s dominant capital is due overwhelmingly to post-glacial rebound. Without it, the old Viking sea route through Södertälje may have stayed open, and Stockholm would probably have remained a small fishing settlement. 1/n

Glucksmann is a rare politician in Europe, one who actually understands what Russia is doing. Which is why the Russians are going after him.
Amid French Intelligence attempts to counter Russia's ongoing efforts to swing France's upcoming election to both far-right and far-left (both of which are pro-Russian and anti-EU) candidates, centrist candidate Raphael Glucksmann details GRU operations against him.

An important study that deserves to be shared as widely as possible within the English-speaking world. Last night, our friends at the *Militarnyi* portal published an English-language article containing a technical analysis of the onboard computer from a Russian jet-powered drone—the "Geran-4." Of the 105 components identified, 80 come from American companies; Texas Instruments alone (including components from National Semiconductor, which was acquired by TI in 2011) accounts for 58.1% of the total. In short: this points to a systemic reliance on Western electronics in this Russian attack drone. For this reason, we have created a separate English-language "quote tweet" with commentary, in which we have tagged @TXInstruments directly. We would appreciate it if you could share this post. 😉 Please tag journalists, American politicians, experts, and organizations involved in sanctions and export controls in the comments. Our experience in disseminating such investigations shows that it is crucial to bring these findings to light beyond the Ukrainian "information bubble." They need to be seen by the manufacturers themselves, as well as by journalists, analysts, sanctions experts, American policymakers, and export control specialists. Regardless of the current policy of the White House, the United States is much more than just a single administration or a single president. They include Congress, the media, industry experts, manufacturers, and government institutions—all of whom can raise the question of how American electronics end up in Russian attack drones on such a large scale. Therefore, such revelations must continue. @informnapalm xitter.cf/InformNapalm/status/21…
Russia calls this “domestic production.” Yet in the Geran-4 flight controller examined by Ukrainian specialists, no Russian-made electronics were found at all. Of 105 identified components, 80 came from 🇺🇸 U.S. companies — with @TXInstruments, including components from National Semiconductor acquired by TI in 2011, accounting for 58.1%. #Russia #US #ExportControls

Helvete vilket fint land och vilket bra folk vi har i Sverige 🇸🇪 Det är bara vädret, systemets öppettider och elpriserna som sabbar. Slava Ukraini!
Countries siding with Ukraine are very different from those siding with Russia. They're richer, freer, and more developed, with a freer press, higher test scores, higher IQs, more equality for women, more Christians, and fewer Muslims:

Elon Musk has reportedly restricted Starlink in Ukraine. Serhii Sternenko, an adviser to former Defense Minister Fedorov, wrote about this on Twitter. If true, it is catastrophic. @sternenko says that military equipment lost connectivity when traveling at speeds exceeding 160 km/h. He also points to something that has already been acknowledged internationally: early warning systems have stopped providing information to Ukraine. In other words, Ukrainians did not know that ballistic missiles had been launched toward them, they could not warn the population by activating air raid sirens, and as a result, many civilians were killed yesterday and overnight simply because they were never warned. How does the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System work? A missile is launched in russia. At launch, it produces a thermal signature detected by military satellites. That information is then transmitted to a command and data processing center. From there, the information is passed on to radar systems. The command center calculates the missile's trajectory and potential impact area. The data is transmitted to the Ukrainians. The Ukrainians activate air raid sirens in the geographical areas identified by radar as potential targets. How does it stop working? Trump orders that the information no longer be shared with the Ukrainians. The result: many more civilians die. Returning to Starlink, the problem created by Trump and Musk is not merely the strangling of Ukrainian counteroffensives, in which Ukrainians have achieved considerable success this year (the Velyka Novosilka sector, Operation Vivaldi), by disabling drones traveling above the aforementioned speed. Far worse for the civilian population is, for example, the disruption of interceptor drones. Interceptor drones operate at speeds well above 160 km/h because the targets they must intercept (generally Geran-2, 3, 4, and 5 drones in civilian areas, but also other types of drones in combat zones) can fly at speeds of up to 400 km/h. Practically everything that moves in Ukraine from a military standpoint, as well as a significant part of everything else operating in Ukraine, relies on Starlink. There are no redundant backup systems in the event of a complete shutdown. Restricting Starlink will lead not only to territorial losses, a brutal reduction in Ukraine's ability to defend its military units, and an equally brutal increase in russia's ability to strike Ukrainian targets far more effectively, but ABOVE ALL to an increase in the number of civilians killed and the systematic destruction of critical civilian infrastructure. We are talking about war crimes and crimes against humanity. We are talking about aiding criminals. We are talking about tying a victim's hands behind their back while the murderer does whatever he wants to them. We are talking about children permanently maimed or killed. We are talking about the United States of America facilitating all of this. Such a decision is a negotiating tactic: "If you don't capitulate to russia, I will help them kill your children." That would be the translation of Trump and Co.'s actions. As a supporter of Ukraine, as someone who fears what a potential russian victory there would mean for our entire society, I find myself wondering whether we, those of us on the outside, can still ask this nation to keep resisting. Can we still ask Zelenskyy not to knock Trump's teeth out at their next meeting (considering that Trump is now responsible for aiding and abetting crimes against the Ukrainian people)? The situation is so grave that many books will be written about what is happening during these months. Slava Ukraini!

It didn't take them long to start restricting Starlink in Ukraine. While Russia destroys Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure, the US is restricting Ukraine's operations. Absolute disgrace, this gotta be the most Russia-friendly administration in the US history.
❗️Last night, the operation of Starlink terminals in Ukraine was restricted. Connectivity began to drop when moving at speeds exceeding 160 km/h. As a result, a number of critical missions were disrupted. SpaceX likely took these measures at the request of the Trump administration. Also last night, when Kyiv was attacked by ballistic missiles, Ukraine did not receive intelligence regarding their launch— a failure that could have led to higher casualties. Ukraine did not attack Russian oil refineries, yet Trump has already begun imposing sanctions on my country. Meanwhile, sanctions against Russia have been eased.

I confirm that tonight SpaceX introduced a speed restriction on Starlink terminals while in motion. At present, the restriction applies to the StarShield “military package” and is set at 100 miles per hour. Our Defense Forces received no prior warning about this limitation, which resulted in the disruption of a number of missions. Obviously, this cannot be a coincidence and is connected to the current political situation. (Quoting Zelensky's miltech advisor)

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Slava Ukraini🇺🇸🇺🇦

❗️I want to sincerely thank the people of Sweden for everything you have done for Ukrainians. Your defense-industrial complex is truly impressive: only true masters can create such precise and high-tech weapons. From the very first days of the full-scale war, Sweden has stood alongside us — with weapons, political support, and a willingness to share experience. This solidarity means a great deal to those who defend their land every day. Thank you for everything, Sweden. 🇺🇦❤️🇸🇪

Russia had a chance after 1991 to look forward. Instead it chose imperial maps and millions dead in the mud. It burned 21st-century wealth on a 19th-century map & threw away its 22nd century. The world is laughing at the “great power” drag itself back to the Stone Age.
