As we dig deeper into the 'flow' - or lack thereof - in San Francisco's homeless system, we hit a core predicament; Permanent supportive housing is becoming increasingly that, permanence coming with increasing cost and marginal effect on the street (1/3) cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/new…
In Part 1 of this series we looked at this idea of 'flow' and how it can help explain why San Francisco's increased spending, and success in housing more people, isn't producing the kind of progress many would like to see on streets and in numbers (2/2)

Federal prosecutors reveal their indictment of former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and her partner Andre Jones. It alleges a “scheme to defraud the public” by taking bribes and kickbacks for influence at city hall.
Two local businesses are also implicated, a recycling company and a housing company. The indictment alleges $95,000 in payments to Jones for a “no-show job” with the housing company, with a promise of additional payments “all intended for the benefit of Thao and Jones.”
