You know, as an engineer, there's always a risk that you end up shipping science projects that no one uses. So it's been really exciting to have significant day 1 adoption from some of the biggest users of Base.
2.06M validity transactions since Cobalt launched on @base - 3.4% of all transactions. Attach a condition (a balance, a storage value, a block number) and your transaction only lands when it holds. Fewer reverts, more blockspace.

Really excited about the quick adoption and positive feedback we're getting on validity transactions (only been live for a couple days!) Is only v1! Will keep getting better

When I was 18 and a newly minted NYC resident I made such an appointment to go see the Barbara Newhall Follett Papers at Columbia. Was very cool! Wish I still possessed such eagerness 😅
very little known fact but some museums and archives have a system where you can just request things and make an appointment to see them. you generally don’t need any special credentials. the met in NYC has one, for example. i saw this myself in person in their study room there.

Validity Transactions are coming to Base in the upcoming Cobalt upgrade later this month Essentially, they let you specify "predicates" - certain onchain criteria that must be met for your transaction to be included in a block. Transactions whose predicates don't get met just expire instead of reverting and wasting gas fees onchain What will you build? 👀️

*very* excited about validity transactions coming to Base. Going to change the game.
Base is rolling out Validity Transactions in the upcoming Cobalt upgrade (est. end of month). In short, these are transactions (EIP-2930 or EIP-1559) that execute only when specific onchain conditions are met, thus enabling conditional transaction flows. Check out the demo: chain.base.org/vibenet/demos… Check out the specs: docs.base.org/specifications…

Compounding gains in homeschooling are beautiful. Saw my wife suffer through homeschooling our first, and now with three learning (+ two more at home) the house feels like a happy, efficient little school. Little by little, we all learn and grow together and “get the program.”

Try Vibenet at vibes.base.org - play with what's next on Base before it ships. 3 features live today: ⚡ 200ms blocks - sub-second confirmation, natively, no separate Flashblocks layer needed. Apps feel instant, zero contract changes required. ⏱️ Validity Transactions - attach a condition to your tx (a price, a block, a flashblock index) and it waits until that's true instead of you guessing and retrying. Fewer wasted probe txns, safer fills for searchers and market makers. 🔑 EIP-8130 Native Account Abstraction - gas sponsorship, session keys, batched calls, built into the protocol. Fewer failed transactions, smart-account UX with no smart contract wallet. Feedback encouraged

It’s come to my attention that not everyone knows Russell Hoban. Top 5 children’s book author, for me.
