Founder, aye, Chair, aye, Inspiration, aye, Doctor!? Well, didn't expect that one! Congratulations @JohnLoughton you deserving legend. 👏🥳
So its Dr. John Loughton BEM! 🎓 🤯 A life wtf moment. Humbled to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate for my work in education. Thank you @UniWestScotland for this recognition. Proud to be the 1st ever for UWS Comm Ed. A reminder that if we provide the ladder, EVERY kid can rise❤️
Great stuff from @planetyouthscot at #YLConf24 looking at upstream solutions to problems young people face with a great process-driven approach.
Always, in every room, funding is the biggest discussion. How to build upstream solutions when funding models want downstream data?
At the @YouthLinkScot #YLSConf24 today, and it's started with a sobering bang - @PublicHealthSCO figures talking to the happiness and health of young people show how much youth work is needed now.

The❤️of our café- Erin's journey has been amazing to watch! She’s gone from keeping to herself to making real connections with everyone who walks in, showing young people they too can thrive through trusted relationships. 🌱💛

This is seismic. Cutting funds to community lifelines like the Ripple is a massive backwards step, and doing it in-year is so damaging to the sector as a whole.
The EIJB need to find a better way around this @VicNicSNP
The Ripple is devastated by the release of proposals to remove a huge proportion of health and social care funding from The Ripple in just 90 days time. Please come to the Ripple next week and join us in our campaign to stop this happening. democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/d…
And there we are! MAKE SURE TO WATCH on Friday night to hear some amazing stories of inspiring young people. ❤️👏
We're so excited to be featured in this, especially cheering on the incredible Jo and Erin ✨, and their amazing journeys from mentee to mentor. 👏Check it out on Friday and support Scran to empower more young people by donating today paypal.com/gb/fundraiser/cha…
Very honoured to be part of a panel discussing the impacts of poverty with the estimable @biddykelly13 and @VicNicSNP on #ChallengePoverty week at the very grand George Watson's college including a superb q and a. Take-homes from us were: INCLUDE, RESPECT, EMPATHISE, LOVE.

Pool, never @JohnLoughton's forte.
Our chair @JohnLoughton might be regretting challenging the Academy lot to a game of pool—he got completely schooled! All in good spirits, of course! 🎱😅

Check out these engaged, diligent learners, ready to achieve! When supported, young people can do anything, and this year's academy cohort keep giving me goosebumps with just how brilliant they've been!
Young people hard at work! 💪
It’s INCREDIBLE to watch them realise their potential and talents, knowing they’re fully capable of achieving whatever they set their minds to. ✨
They just needed to be EMPOWERED to discover it themselves.
