I had some thoughts about social media and how it’s helping with both peer to peer and peer to patient education and wrote this piece for @CRSToday crstoday.com/articles/jan-20…
Posted on the Eyeprentice IG a version of the IOL exchange pull through technique originally described by Sachiko Fukuoka, MD where the Fukuoka forceps are used. instagram.com/reel/C06uKxUg2…

Totally agree! SMILE is like the cybertruck of refractive surgery. New and amazing
Replying to @BillyM2k
Definitely get it.
There is also a new approach called Small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) worth considering.

New York Ophthalmology is the only practice in New York dedicated to delivering comprehensive elf on the shelf eyecare to the approximately 1.3 million elves living in the city. Not only that, our highly trained elves provide much of the care.
Its hard to imagine not being able to perform surgery on patients but one thing I do love is working with #industry and seeing a concept come to life. We have an amazing research team at Cleveland Eye Clinic and I always enjoy testing out new technology.
Guess you can say I "grew up" in #ophthalmology. It is a field that in my opinion is always innovating. I remember sitting at home with my father discussing the latest advancements in refractive surgery and I was hooked ever since. #mentorship

"When applying to fellowships, a phone call from an attending can also go a long way. Personal connections can carry a lot of weight." - Dr. Wiley
Thank you, Dr. Wiley for taking time out of your busy schedule to mentor a group of our YMDC members! 👏
I've always believed in the importance of mentorship. Join me on Tuesday, Sept. 12th, at 8:15 PM ET for an ask-me-anything-style mentoring session on @youngmdconnect! Register here: youngmdconnect.com/event/men…
I was excited to try the new miCOR device from Zeiss recently. Amazing to see advancements like this in cataract surgery where a simple compact device can accomplish cataract surgery with less energy and in a potentially safer manner.
Recently I was reminded of trying not to get too fancy with a surgical solution. Often the easiest approach is the best approach for all involved. Figured I’d dig up one of my old editorials from @CRSToday and re-share this philosophy.
